NEIL LENNON last night refused to rule out a move for Craig Bellamy.
Reports claim Celtic chief executive Peter Lawwell is set to clinch a cut-price deal for the £90,000-a-week striker.
Lennon's attempt to remain tight-lipped was futile as he grinned: "Speculation. I haven't had a chance to speak to Peter. Hopefully I'll have a conversation later. Jay Bothroyd? He's in the mix."
Bellamy spent six months on loan at Parkhead in 2005 and his return would be a major coup.
Celtic feared a move for Bellamy, 31, was a no-goer because Manchester City wanted to sell for £5million.

Celtic have reported their interest in the player

But the hitman has asked to be released from his contract and Celtic have re-ignited their interest after pulling out of a move for £2million Petah Tikva striker Omer Damari.
Gutted Damari said: "I wanted badly to play for Celtic. It is very sad this move won't be happening. I was under the impression the deal would go through, so that makes it doubly disappointing. I have other options though and I will have to look at them now."
Lennon could also revive his interest in Norwegian striker Erik Huseklepp. He tried to sign the hitman from Brann Bergen in January, but he joined Bari.
However Bari have just been relegated from Serie A and Huseklepp's agent
Fabio Pensi said: "Celtic have reported their interest in the player."
Bellamy, Husklepp and Bothroyd in the same story. the truth is the news of the world dont have a clue :56:

Lenny said during his post match interview were not after him, it's speculation, so that's the end of it IMO.

Total nonsense to buy him he's to old for the money he asks. Its throwing the money out of the window. Get Bulykin from Ado Den Haag. Great striker 1 goal short of topscorer in holland. Big strong striker ideal sub. He's much more affordable.

In Bellamy's defence, we don't know what he wants. He has a great contact at Citeh. We are going off the word of someone on a Cardiff City forum who some here has picked up and copied. On those terms I say no, but I doubt Lenny would offer those terms anyway.

If Bellamy is unveiled in Paradise, I would be * delighted.

I agree, I still think he will end up at Cardiff. Can't say I'd blame him, its his city, his club and his family are there

He wont come, he lives in Cardiff and has always lived there with whatever team hes played with so hes not going to come back and forward between Cardiff and Glasgow to play for a year 4/5 months maybe but not a year as he wont move or live here.

I'd only take him if we signed someone else (Bothroyd or Musona) & if the rumors about him staying in Cardiff and flying up for games are not true.

Regardless of age and injuries, he would still light up the SPL and anyone who thinks otherwise is a Hun hahaha

good player with a great attitude to football and im sure if it wasnt for his recent injuries id say nobody would be questioning his signing. He stated before he went to cardiff money wasnt a problem with any future transfer as he had made a good living from the game

The odds on Craig Bellamy coming to Celtic have been slashed 3 times in the last 3 hours, we're now favourites.

I wouldn't get excited about the betting thing. A rumour can start an avalanche of betting and so odds get slashed.
