Wonderful player, hope we sign him. A player who was real quality when he came here. The knee situation is that if he passes a medical then he is fit to play. So your just making guesses.

Watched a lot of Cardiff games this year and I can safely say we wouldn't be getting as good a player as we had 6 years ago. He has to nurse himself through the season by picking his games. We can't afford to have a player do that, especially not a marquee signing who would command big, big wages.

As much as I love the guy, our money would be better spent on a younger, less damaged model.

Yeah, appreciate what your saying, but Celtic has a stringent medical examination for every player that they sign. If they feel he is up to the demands of the SPL then that will be good enough for me. We also have far too many young players in the side. We need to get a couple of experienced players in who are at the 28-30 year old mark. Neil has done a great job in assembling a good young side, but consistency comes with experience and I think that there were a few games last season where we missed that. And I dont mean the Ljungberg sort of player.

Maj , for all his faults , no doubt brought a bit if organisation to our defence when he came in. Would be good to get that same type of experience further up the park.

i understand completely what you're saying, but I still think we could make the mistake of signing him even if he isn't up to playing every game.

the rumour going around down here is that lenny has had disscusions with craig, looks possible that he could join celtic on loan if craig can sort out staying in cardiff training and flying up a day or two before matches

This is off one of the mesage boards down here and this guy is pretty much spot on with info, ive cut it down a bit but have a look

Neil Lennon has been down to Cardiff twice to meet Craig, after the season ended and before he went to Sierra Leone. They spent a considerable amount of time together at Craig's home and out in Cardiff.

Celtic have put forward an excellent offer for both Craig and Man City to take Craig up North.

They have offered to pay Man City 85% of Craig Bellamy's £70k a week wage and they will commit to a season long loan.

Bellamy has been told he can stay in Cardiff throughout the week and fly up on a Friday to meet up with the squad and fly back to Cardiff on a Sunday to be with his family as Lennon knows how much bearing that has on the decision with Craig.

There is an agreement in place shall we say that unless they are seen as vitally important midweek games then Craig will have dispensation not to be included in the match day squad.

Those are terms which in my opinion suits Man City for obvious reasons and the fact he is not a threat to their Premiership aspirations.

The terms for Craig Bellamy are heavily stacked in his favour as he gets exactly what he wants and that is to be with his wife and children during the week and a flight is only an hour from Glasgow to Cardiff.

Celtic get the services of Bellamy without having to pay a transfer fee and their club can certainly afford to pay a little over £2.5 million over the course of a season for him.

Unless Cardiff City can come up with a transfer fee and buy Craig which I don't think will happen for a number of reasons then they will have to up the percentage of payment towards his wages if they want him on a season long loan.

Or they will have to hope that Bellamy and Man City can somehow come to an agreement to scratch his contract and allow him to be a free agent.

Bellamy wants Cardiff that is definite but Man City will not allow the move to happen whilst the current terms are on offer. Celtic are trying to lure Bellamy with their offer of him living in Cardiff. Bellamy does not wish to return to Man City.

Apart from everthing else that's unbelievable about that, there is no way we would pay 60k per week, double our highest earner's wage, especially for a guy who won't even train with us or play midweek matches.

    Completely agree.

Imagine what this would do for Squad harmony, never mind Club resources.

We could have 3 or 4 full time players for that kind of deal.

Fans would be completely against this & I really don't believe Lenny would go for that kind of *.

It is all over the internet though.

whats the deal with him not being able to leave cardiff,if i got a job that paid 70k a week in london then thats where you move your family ,really dont get sometimes these footballers that go alone to a club and there family stays put ,i know its stability in the house but plenty of folk do it ,some have no choice. plus to come up here for a payday no thanks hows he ever gonna bond with the squad ,plus it would be getting thrown in the gaffers face every time there was an issue, would rather pay izzy n kayal that money per week n get bothroyd in

I love wee Craig, but we cannot shell out £56-60k a week for a guy who doesn't pay in Europe! Totally agree with everyone's comments above. Lenny has built a real spirit at the Club, and that would not continue with a player not training with the squad week in and week out.

I'd take him but he needs to live in Glasgow Tuesday to Sunday and train every session unless away with Wales

Celtic are in no position to pay 60 grand a week for a guy with bad kness who may need to pick and chose his games.

Can you imagine it......"Aw Neil, my knees are playing up again, I'll just have a little rest for a couple of weeks if you don't mind, eh? Pity, it being a crunch time in the campaign an' all that........by the way, the pay cheque go in all right, did it? I'm off home to Wales. See ya when I'm up for it !"

The SPL is not a league you pay ANYONE 60 grand a week to play in and if you cost 60 grand a week, the SPL is not your league.

I'd take him, on a quite astounding pay drop mind, but in any case, I don't think a little run in the Europa and the SPL title is all riding on 'To Bellamy, or not to Bellamy?"

the no1 reason i think this story about the deal is bullshit cos he wouldn't want to come here and take the * out of us

£60k a week and spending 48hrs with us per week is taking the *

i'm obviously taking a leap of faith on Bellars' liking/love 4 Celtic here but I really do have faith in him as a self proclaimed tim that he wouldn't do that to us

he went from city's best player to cardiff in one season because he wanted to play for his home club that says to me he's an honourable man

very rare in the game these days
