I missed the game last night as i am on nights at the moment .I spoke to one of the lads from my csc who was down the pub for it and he told me about all the chanel changing the bbc did for the utd game. * joke:31:
On a funny note though he said during the penaltys after wilkie missed some advert came on and a lad shouted out a chanel number to change to. much to everyones suprise instead of seeing loovens they got some bird flicking herself off on a *.:56:it gets better though coz we watch it upstairs in a function room but downstairs in the main bar sows the same on tv. so i can imagine loads of middle aged couple gettin a bit of free *.
Anyone got any thoughts on the coverage fiasco

P A R A N O I A:rolleyes:
I'm pretty sure the BBC had not bargained for 24 penalties mate. They do have responsibilities to other viewers with regards their published timetable. Especially in respect to live broadcasts such as the news. -

I work in Aberdeen, and the game was witnessed by my good self in front of 30/40 of raving Dandy's, all of whom mysteriously switched allegiance to the Arabs that evening. When the coverage went, and was then located again (with Loovens and a look of disappointment on his face), it's fair to say i received a * WAD of abuse. For that, i shall never forgive the BBC!!!
Was a case of "get it up ye" at the end though!:56: -

This was written by someone on another celtic site and pretty much sums up my feeling about the BBC's antics.
SCOTS ARE SECOND CLASS CITIZENS 30th January 2009
A spokesman for the BBC has denied that they had anything to do with the length of time Glenn Loovens was made to wait before taking his penalty kick in Wednesday's League Cup semi-final.
Whether you believe that or not it was obvious to all that Loovens was made to wait and Artur Boruc could clearly be seen complaining to the referee about it.
Luckily it didn't matter in the end but what is apparent is the fact that the people of Scotland continue to be treated like second class citizens where the BBC is concerned.
The match started off on BBC1 Scotland then viewers were told to switch to BBC2 Scotland then just as Loovens was about to take his penalty it was back to BBC1 Scotland, what an absolute farce!
Can you in your wildest imagination picture an FA Cup semi-final between Arsenal and Spurs being switched from BBC1 to BBC2 then back to BBC1 because the News then Newsnight was coming on? No, neither can I and arrangements would have been made in advance to suit if the match went to extra-time and penalties, the News would have been delayed.
As far as I'm aware the TV licence fee for those of us in Scotland is the same at £139.50 as it is for those in England yet we get landed with an inferior service from the BBC.
I'm not just talking about the Celtic v Dundee United match (and that wasn't the only time the channel hopping has happened by the way, it's a regular occurrence), I'm talking about the fact that there are BBC TV regions all over England who have their own local weather and news reports yet we in Scotland have one to cover the whole country.
The BBC Scotland spokesman commented that "It was well flagged up in the listing that the schedule might be subject to change if the match was extended", eh.. so that's okay then is it?
It's just not cricket as they say in Englandshire but of course if it had been then the News would have been confined to the red button. -

wasnt loovens made to wait because wilkie took so long getting back to the half way line. doesnt the next penalty taker have to wait till the last one reaches the half way line before taking it (except for the goalies obviously) and if you watch it wilkie is taking forever to walk back.

they should just air the football on BBC2 if it was going to cause these problems!
