Keep Taylor away and that will enhance our chances alone massively. Schlupp has to start.

Can understand why people are calling for Maeda to start through the middle as we had our best moments last week when he was shifted there - however it’s not always as simple as that automatically being the way to go for the following game.

Maeda played the last, what, 30 minutes or so as a striker? That was when we were chasing the game and a little bit of complacency set in for Bayern. We were bound to have some joy, and his pressing and energy aided that. Doesn’t take away from the fact he’s a better winger and the game is coming too soon for Jota.

Totally. Think maedas defensive work will really be needed. I'd start maeda, idah, kuhn, and only change is schlupp for me

Get the first goal and we give ourselves a fighting chance. They are heavy favourites but we've shown we can trouble them.

I’d love to keep the score down. They’re some team.

Questions for those in the know, how often would the team prepare at Paradise? I would assume it’s not often to keep the pitch in excellent condition.

Also, why do they have these sessions? For sponsors, behind closed doors for privacy, short turnaround?

    Thanks.

We'll normally train at Celtic Park for an away European fixture

Easier for staff and players ahead of flying to the destination

If I'm not mistaken, Maeda has scored 10 goals in 4 games as a ST (or something like that), yet people still think he's better as a winger. As much as I love his game, his dribbling and crossing leave a lot to be desired. He's more of a finisher rather than a creator. The closer he plays to the opposing goal, the better.

The game plan should be built around forcing this tie to extra time I think, if we can do that I think we can win. Schlupp must start for that to have a chance of happening I feel, whatever happens we have equipped ourselves very well in this campaign and new Champions League format.

Much to look forward too with confidence and a few more quality additions in the summer.

Think it's more leaning towards, especially in Europe, his defensive work and ground covered. Playing through the middle takes a lot of that away and unless there was a supporting midfielder, or kuhn drifting inside.

3 of those in a pre season friendly to be fair.

He's scored the vast majority of his 22 goals this season as a LW/inside forward.

He can easily play both but as mentioned in Europe its important he's on that left side. At least starting.

He can certainly play on the wing. Question is whether he's actually better through the middle. I'm starting to think he's a rich man's Kyogo. Probably a slightly worse finisher (it's not like Kyogo was a natural finisher either), but better at everything else. If I were BR, I'd be seriously considering using Maeda permanently through the middle. I'd even argue we might be better off with an extra winger instead of Kvistgaarden this summer. Plenty of games till the end of the season to test this hypothesis. Bayern away is the ultimate test. Conventional lineup didn't serve us well in the first leg. Bayern are heavy favorites. We have nothing to lose.
