Had a moment of fear that Kane was going to do what happened in the first leg.

All in all though, well done Bhoys. Engels has been right on it, Hatate putting in a shift, the forwards, Maeda, Kuhn & Jota pressing and created a couple of genuine openings that really we should've taken advantage of at least one of them. Schlupp had a tough first 10min or so, but has become more alert to the danger. All in all, solid first half display, especially away from home.

 

Been critical of Johnston in Europe but thought he was excellent, particularly first 30 mins.

Very strong performance so far. Need to keep the concentration obviously and only thing missing was finishing one of those chances, which is just so important at this level. Not often you're gonna get a chance like we have, never mind 3 like those in the first half, not including Cal's in early chance.

 

For us to go in disappointed at half time 0-0 says it all. Massive 2nd half for us.

 

Think putting scales at lb for hatate and moving schlupp into the middle will make us more solid.

 

Great half. Looking a bit tired in the last 10, understandably. Just need more of the same in the 2nd-half and a little bit of luck. Should be 1-up.

Get Hatate off. Hes just gifting them possession.

We know he's capable of a wonder ball, but the ratio isnt worth it in a tie like this. He's going to cost us dearly if he doesnt sharpen up or hit the showers.

On another note, this ref and linesman are * at it. One cant spot an offside, the other cant find his whistle when its us getting fouled.

 

Really good half, just a shame we couldn't get a goal.
