We should be aiming for first mate, obviously.

    They started with-
    Cillessen
    Vidal Mathieu Mascherano Digne
    D.Suarez Rakitic Busquetes
    Neymar Alacer Turan

Then Messi, Iniesta and Suarez came on. Alba and Umtiti were on the bench as well who will both start no doubt.
    Obviously fearing us!:celt_2:

I reckon' that Umtiti can be targeted.

Wasn't impressed with him in the Euros.

If Mascherano starts then just need to put Dembele on him and that's our outball. Umtiti is fast and strong which why I think he might play to stop the counters and act as a sweeper.

Their first choice team now is probably

    Ter Stegen
    Roberto Pique Umtiti Alba
    Busquets
    Rakitic Iniesta
    Messi Suarez Neymar

So only really 2 of their team played yesterday.

Aye, he could probably play any position except centre-back for us and be one of if not our best player.

I think he even plays for Spain as their right-back now too.

Is Roberto getting picked over Vidal for Barca recently. He is good in that position mind.

I was also thinking Umtiti looks like he could be a weak link.

On the grand scale of things though, that team ILTC just posted means it is going to be hard to target weak links.

It's set pieces that will hopefully give us a chance as Barca usually don't have the height to deal with them.

I don't think we have much of a chance, I'm just enjoying being back in the CL and it's the home games where we will hopefully cause an upset or two with our goal scoring ability at home.

The hard part is actually getting the * ball long enough to target any supposed weak link :56:

True, it is a nail biting experience watching us play Barca :smiley-laughing002:

Well that's true for most teams who go there mind you. Always think of poor Milan going with a 2 0 lead and still getting beat.

Barca on their day can put 5 or 6 past any team in the world, just hope we can give a decent account of ourselves.

Yes and interesting that for Alaves' first 1st 2 League games - one vs Athletico Madrid away - they drew both games playing 4-2-3-1 but vs Barca yesterday they went 3-5-2 at the Camp Nou and caused the shock of the day, 2-1 to Alaves.

So maybe we should go 3 at the back with Lustig/Kolo/Erik.

Wide positions, Gamboa giving us pace wide right vs Neynar - however big unknown for his first game - and KT wide left.

We need to be solid in middle vs Messi, Suarez and Neymar, so that's Brown & Bitton with one of them doing a "Paul Lambert" and sitting in front of the back line for 90 minutes.

We need pace and skill in wide positions, so I'd have Forrest or Roberts on the right with Sinclair left doing the front/back job with Moussa in the middle up front, which leaves the middle of the park.

I'd play Armstrong because I think he's better suited than Rogic when the pace of play against us is at high tempo, which it will be. Although Rogic is the more skilfull player, I think he gets a bit lost and lacks pace against high pressing, quick passing, attacking sides, which is how Barca play. In 2nd half bring on Rogic when pace drops and whichever of Roberts/Forrest is on the bench.

    So,

    De Vries
    Lustig, Kolo, Erik
    Gamboa, Brown, Bitton, KT
    Roberts/Forrest, Armstrong, Sinclair
    Moussa

Don't think they'll let us play with 12/13 players mate.
