Probably the only Celtic player who can walk away from last nights disaster with any credit. Barcelona are a class apart from anybody and when they are on song as they were last night they are unreal but that lack of fight in the second half was unacceptable.

Thing is, it's easy to forget we got pumped 6-1 in this same fixture three years ago with the likes of Van Dijk and Forster in our team, and Barca were playing a weakened side at the time with no Messi and Iniesta (and no Suarez obviously) and playing the likes of Montoya, Adriano, Sergi Roberto (when he was younger) etc. Considering the differences in both the teams from then and now (our defence weaker, their attack stronger) I'd probably say that game was a worst result than this.

We all know what happened last night, as many are saying it wasn't surprising considering who we were up against. The group we are in is obviously glamorous and all that but really it's a group where 2 games are all that matter for us, the games against Monchengladbach. It's feasible that we both lose every other game besides the games against each other in which 3rd place would be decided.

Surely a win at home with 3 points could be enough to go through to Europa, even with a loss in Germany, depending on head to head result. I hope we pick something up else where ofcourse but that would be the worst situation we would be in to remain in Europe. The progress shown so far with the team, I think that it would be an achievable target for us.

Debt through sponsorship is still adapted to fair market value under FFP. In any case, my comment was made tongue-in-cheek as we all known FFP doesn't make anything fair.

The "10 in a row" chant was definitely audible somewhere around 0-3 or 0-4 on my broadcast (FS1 in the USA), so they were in good voice and deserve credit for that.

The only consolation at the Nou Camp is the section they put you in means unless you have 20/20 vision and a pair of binoculars you aren't going to see the 6 or 7 goals going in your net.

This is why, if given the opportunity, we should jump at the chance of joining the English setup/euro super league. The financial gulf is getting bigger every year and its translating onto the park. Scotland is holding us back with far too many clubs, small fanbases, bigoted incompetent governing body and the 'Glorious Failure' Scottish mentality. Would do anything to be given the chance to join a setup which would adequately financially reward us in line with our fans ambition and dedication to allow us to compete.

Euro super league -Yes but depends on finances. Press filled suggestion of entry to Div 5 down south - No. What players with any quality would want to play vs conference sides and the likes of Accrington Stanley, Notts County, Stevenage? How many season tickets would we sell? No European games for at least 5 years. If Peter is criticised for holding the purse strings now, it would be nothing to how tight he would hold them if we started in Div 5. It's a non-starter.

The financial gulf between sides isn't really translating onto the park in my opinion. With the likes of Barca/Madrid/Bayern it is, but we would probably finish mid table in the EPL ahead of sides who spend about 20x more than us.

Well, whatever lessons that the whole management and team learned from that game, I sincerely hope that we can improve on the return match at Parkhead.

We were looking quite threatening when on the attack and Barca were not too clever in defense either.
Maybe a Long ball approach with Leigh and Moussa chasing everything will reap better rewards.

Why do you only come on to slag Celtic?

You obviously don't support us, it's clear from your past posts. Pointless. :smiley-laughing002:

I'm a Swansea fan, just challenging someone's opinion that I believe to be wrong, not exactly slagging you off!

Stoke City are bottom and have Shaqiri, Bojan, Imbula, Bony, Allen and Arnoutavic. Some pretty good players. Newcastle got relegated with Wijnaldum, Sissoko, Shelvey, Colback, Townsend, Mbemba, Mitrovic etc!
