I think when a player comes here with a poor reputation it takes a lot for people to get over that, similar to a player going through a bad spell.

People never really got over Starfelt's early mistakes despite him being excellent for us, a lot of people still don't rate Engels either.

Trusty done alright tonight against a very good Aston Villa side. They might be on iffy form but they're still a very scary side at 100%, better than Dortmund for me.

He's better than Scales , needs CCV beside him. We need a new CB IF we can find an upgrade its a * really really tough position to recruit , most CBs are dozen a dime.

Dunno what game some where watching.

Constantly left 1 v 1 with a top quality striker and dealt with him incredibly well.

Add to the fact he's gotta cope with that * donkey beside him then deserves lot of praise

Thought he good tonight decent against Watkins covering for our other CB and sometimes LB consistently was bailing them out. Not sure what game some people were watching tonight certainly not ours if you thought he was bad!

Ollie Watkins is an excellent striker and a complete handful and I thought he thrived off the battle with him myself.

Has pace, power, heading ability and can pass a ball. Has parts of his game to develop but I like him.

You're basically crippling him by having that dross beside him.

Put in a shift, had his hands full with a top striker but overall done well, a tad unlucky with the penalty.

And also, was playing out of position on the right too.

Dunno how anyone can watch that and not think he stood up to the task well. What did he do wrong? The pen, OK bit rookie to go to ground but other than that. Watkins is a pain in the * to play against and I honestly don't think in current form CCV would have handled him better.

Bit bewildered at some takes not gonna lie.

He was very good tonight in my opinion. Relished the battle against Watkins.

Thought he played well tbh, he was left isolated constantly by scales against a top class striker. Don’t think it was a peno either

Surprised to see that take, I generally agree with you. I thought he stood up to the task, without much help, quite well. Had a very hard job, against quality and done it better than I’d expect from anyone in our team.

It was like a personal battle between them two, so even with him doing well, Watkins still also terrorised us he couldn’t do it all himself and didn’t always come out on top just they two either. But with that in mind, think he can be happy with his performance

Thought he came out well in battle with Watkins. His pace was crucial and was very strong as well. The passing certainly needs work.

Looked a bit lost at the beginning playing on the right but settled in and was one of our best players.

Played very well. As many have said he dealt with Watkins who beats most for pace and was villas out ball. Should never have been left so isolated against him and done very well to keep him at bay.
Even the penalty I thought he was unlucky but didn't need to go to ground

I think the penalty was harsh to be honest. He got a touch on the ball and then wrapped his foot around it.

He was very good and I believe would’ve been even better next to CCV. They created a good few chances but can’t mind any being his fault bar the very soft penalty.

And it was never a pen, got the ball twice. Dealt with Watkins pace and power very well, the Dundee game was obviously a good reality check for him he needs to give 100% ever game.
