I think this place is ridiculously negative tonight.

A bit backs to the wall and we need to stop them crossing the ball so easily, but there’s something here for us if we can counter more effectively and ride our luck some more in the second half.

 

Will take that at HT. Created very, very little but pretty stout in defence. Casper with a top class safe at the end.
We’ll need to do it all again - and more - in the 2nd half.

Being led a bit of a dance at times but hanging in there, Daizen and Kuhn been decent outballs at times and hopefully with Kyogo on at some point in 2nd half we'll make a breakaway count.

Defence being pulled all over the park but working hard and getting bodies and tackles in, some great stops fae Kasper too.

 

Great defending for most but we are just giving the ball back to them when we get it..

 

0-0 but feels like 5-0 hopefully a few tweaks for 2nd half and we finish strong mon the hooooooops

 

Idah started off holding it up well but some of his touches after have been beyond pish..

Engels has been a man down. Anonymous and slow to react to every ball..

Take that so far though..

Need to be better in the final third. I'd even think about swapping Idah and Maeda, unless Kyogo comes on. There's spaces there but our final ball has been so poor..

 

Hanging on but any half decent result we’ve had away in Europe usually looks like that. Feels a bit like Lazio away Ntcham game tbh. Let’s be honest Lazio were all over 1st half and we hit them on the break a good few times well

I ain't no manager nor player so whatever they can do to just try and keep better control of the ball and learn to play passes again that would golden.

I like that Hatate has tried his usual risky forward passes as there was times Idah was on but Idah couldn't get to it because of typical clever Italian defending

 

Berny and wee kyogo need to start 2nd half

 

We've done well, but we need to keep it better at this level or we'll eventually concede. AJ, then Kasper saved us in the last couple of minutes.

 

Overall, considering this is Atalanta and I'm expecting us to be beat before the game, I'm happy with that.

Think Kyogo would offer more in this game, but I get why we went with Idah originally. It's just the games developed to be better for Kyogo.


Unfortunately, we are Celtic though.

Not quite a teenager but take your point

 

Absolutely shocking performance. Completely shat it a few times. Disgraceful tbh.

On a positive note, most players have dug in really well & showed a bit of fight against a really good side.

 

That out ball from Schmeichel to Idah is not working. Idah has no strength and no touch. Might as well bring on Kyogo then try play it over the top

 

Passing is slack as * and we really need to try cut out the crosses. Valle giving their number 10 too much space and Maeda really needs to help him out.

 

If only we had a proper DMF, it would be even better. But for once, we're making it hard for the opposition. 45 minutes of this stuff will have to be endured. But already, we can say we had a respectable half against a big European side.
