Before big games i always have that pit in my stomach.

The "just * do it Celtic" anxiety pit.

Dont have it tonight. Its not that I dont care, but that Dortmund result, a game i really, truly thought we would take something from has * any hope I had of actually doing something in this Euro campaign.

Away tae bed. Have a good one bhoys and ghirls.

Hot streak: Celtic have lost each of their last six UCL away fixtures, conceding an average of 4.17 goals per game in that period.

    * sake :frown:

7-1 doesn't matter at this point; because that kind of result:

    a) Has happened to us so many times before that I've stopped caring.

    b) Happens relatively regularly in the CL when minnows like us play the big boys. We might think that people all over Europe notice when we lose 7-1; but in fact, they mostly don't. They might notice for a few seconds or something.

Double figures is something quite different. Most obviously, it's a psychologically significant dividing line. Secondly, it's never happened to us before. Thirdly, it never (or almost never?) happens. People all over Europe really would sit up and notice if that happens.

10-1 would be much more humiliating than 7-1.

If We keep the goal difference down to just a couple I'll be happy...

You didn’t specify the parameters within which the result did or did not matter, it matters is it’s 10-1 but not 7-1 is your logic?

The whole of Europe were well aware Dortmund beat us 7-1 in the exact same way they would were it to be 10-1.

Over and above all of the hypothetical nonsense regardless, we’re not getting beat by 10 goals so it’s a waste of time even talking about it in all honesty.

I fear another hammering here, hopefully not but our defence just looks so fragile especially with no CCV.

When the draw was made this and the dortmund fixture are the ones I think most people would expect nothing from, they're clear favourites, be great if we caused an upset obviously but not going to blow a gasket if we lose, just hope it's an ok performance we can take a few positives from if we do and not a pounding like dortmund to keep the goal difference reasonable.

Feels like we will need to score a few to win because there's no chance we are keeping a clean sheet. Como went to Atalanta and beat then 3 2 just last month so it's not impossible.

    ...just very unlikely!

Didn't expect idah, must mean we're going to low block it, punt it and hope he keeps ahold of it. Good. Should only lose by 2 :fear:

The context of a post sets the parameters of any claims. The initial context was the 7-1 defeat in Dortmund. The new context today was the reports that Atalanta are aiming for double figures. You're one of the smartest people on here, so I assume you chose to temporarily ignore your common sense in order to enjoy the pleasure of getting up on your high horse.

For me, 7-1 is much less of an issue than 10-1 or 11-0 (or whatever) for all the reasons I outlined above. Much as I might claim to have no problem with a heatwave when it's 30 degrees but change my mind when the forecast changes to 35 degrees. YMMV.

I don't think they will get double figures either; but I'm certainly not bold enough to rule it out.

If it was anyone else but Rodgers, I would assume his comments were bluster and/or deception. But it's Rodgers, mate. His word is his bond.
