Think this is a fair point tbh. I usually love to see the English getting upset by us (or anyone), but this would only make us look like the other lot, IMO. We’ve plenty more songs to raise the roof with.

There is no way I would play Yang or Palma, they are too much of a drop off in quality, would rather see Luke or Valle replace Meada.
Villa have a really good midfield, great composure, watched them totally outplay Man City recently.
An away CL game against better quality opposition, we should be able to change formation, 3 center half's with AJ and GT as wing backs but would be way too risky to change formation now, as we never have previously.

Yeah, nothing edgier than celebrating terrorists who killed civilians in the city you are visiting. Edgy points all round...

I'd love to see an alternative set up but I really doubt it. I think yang starts. I don't have much hope for this one at all but the most important result was the one last week.

    Ha.

Complete and utter social media bullshit nonsense.

How many people died in every Irish town and city during the 100's of years of murder, fear and famine during the British occupation of Ireland ?How many people died in Belfast or Derry in 1974. The notion that Birmingham is different just because * have heard of the Birmingham bombings really holds no water and is just silly.

We all know that Irish history is seen as Nationalist - bad guys, British army/loyalists - good guys. Id hazard a guess that the majority of people from Birmingham haven't a clue about the suffering the Nationalist population suffered during the troubles however, I don't want to see any of our travelling support getting attacked or involved in something that, no doubt, would be highlighted everywhere in the SMSM. Hopefully, our fans don't give the Villa fans or police any opportunities

So do you genuinely expect the fans to change the songbook for this one particular game ?

What has this to do with a football game between Villa & Celtic though. I'm a Celtic fan & tbh I agree with this post their is no need in this day & age for this.

The post was about this game whether the Celtic fans should change their songbook for this particular game. Celtic fans always have and always will sing Irish Republican songs. Whether you like it or not is of no interest to me whatsoever. The songs are to remember those who gave their lives for Irish freedom not to antagonize folk who can't wait to be offended.

I'd wager the * that posted that will be gutted if there are no IRA songs for him to moan about.

I understand all the politics but I'm talking about the narrative that looks to be already written about our fans going down their & the media down their blasting us for being a toxic fan base & club. We all know how it will go let's be honest.

Maybe we should ask them not to fly Union flags or the Ulster Banner then?

I mean things happened in not too distant memory you know, and it might make some of us feel sad..

    * out of here. They’ll be chanting about * * and have the usual elements out looking for trouble regardless of what our fans do or don’t do.

Jesus didn't realise Villa fans are Huns. I'm sorry but I hope the fans travelling down to Birmingham don't have your mind set. A Villa fan just asked us to be mindful that was it whatever the fans down their choose to sing about so be it but at end of the day this is 2025 now it doesn't have to be toxic although I do love a bit of banter between both sets of fans.

Hopefully the Irish rebel bands going down don't sing Republican songs of freedom

They have a well known hooligan and far right element in their support and if you think they’re not going to be trying to noise up our fans with flags and chants you’re completely deluded. So spare me the sanctimonious * from some Villa fan with an obvious agenda.

I was in Digbeth for St Patrick's day parade a few years back.

Went to see Villa the day before with a family member. We had all our Celtic gear on including a tricolour with the badge.

Outside Villa Park they were collecting for a charity "justice for the six".

The Villa support were fine with us. Quite welcoming really.
