We actually don't though. TV money gets split according to league position. Despite us being the only reason we have a TV deal.

I do not dislike Barca as a club but i don't like the whole "Barca, barca, barca, i love barca" Idea most people seem to have. I'm also (believe it or not) sick and tired of watching their style of football. I think it's getting pretty boring.

And last of all, the fact that last season we needed them to beat Benfica at the nou camp to guarentee we would progress, they in my opinion didn't even try. That match was the first time in so many year they didn't start a fit leo Messi and the fisr time in so many years the opposing team had more shots on target than them in their home stadium.

Without Messi, Barcelona are very tedious to watch.

It's not up to Barcelona to ensure we progress. If we had been able to beat Benfica either at home or away, it wouldn't have mattered. Barcelona done enough on the night, and we done our bit, and we both went through. However, if you can rest players, like Barca could afford to do, why not do it.

Couldn't give a *, probably Madrid as they are more entertaining to watch in my view, when they get to the half way line they just want to play that killer pass, attack teams, Barcelona get the ball there and they go side-to-side, then go back, dull as dishwater, obviously it's extremely successfull as they dominate teams possesion wise and wear teams down but for me Madrid play exciting Football and that's what we really want to see.

It's the fact that we played their anthem at Celtic Park after the Spartak game sickened me

Honestly I don't really like either club and the dead atmosphere's at both make celtic park domestic home games look like a river boca derby..

I support both against english teams but generally I like to see both get beat in la liga and the el classico I am neutral,I just like watching world class/the best players going head to head..
Always loved watching either sides class players all the way from growing up,that's about it..

Always like celta vigo from going out there at the time big john hartson put us through, lovely people and the reception we got at the final whistle even though they went out with the home crowd singing celtic was different class..
Lovely place aswell, would love to play them out there again!

Celtic and Rangers had prize money and TV money stitched up between them for years. They made sure they got their share of the pie and more. Then to top it off they have the brass neck to complain when the provincial clubs can't provide them with stern enough competition. It's little wonder fans of the provincial clubs hate Glasgow's big two so much.

Its not really similar though, we dont even get double what 5th place in Scotland gets but I imagine Real Madrid/Barcelona get a lot more than double, maybe even 10x what Atletico get?

We will get £2.4million for winning the League but 5th place will get £1.2million.

The provincial would have no TV money if not for Celtic and the money is handed to the league to dish out as part of the prize money based on position in the league.

It's not the same situation at all.

It's exactly the same situation. The figures probably aren't as stark though due to the money involved in Scottish Football being a tiny proportion of what is swilling about the Spanish game.

I find Celtic and Rangers(RIH) fans to be extremely hypocritical when it comes to money distribution in football. When discussing Scottish Football they say things like you've just said there 'If it wiznae fur us there'd be nae TV deal so we should get most of the money' yet when it comes to the Champions League it could easily be argued that the only reason we earn the amounts we do in the Group Stages is due to the presence of the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid etc in the competition. TV companies certainly aren't shelling out hundreds of millions of pounds to broadcast Celtic's matches. Yet many of our fans complain(and rightly so) about how Europe's top clubs are getting richer while the rest(us included) are being left to wither on the vine and fight for the scraps from the big clubs table.

We can't have it both ways.

I'd prefer a more egalitarian approach to money distribution at all levels of football. The bigger clubs will still generate more money than the smaller ones by virtue of the fact that they draw bigger attendances but there's no need to exacerbate the situation by handing them the vast majority of TV money and prize money as well. This form of wealth distribution is what is creating inequality in the game and killing competition for all but the richest clubs. The game as a sporting contest is suffering because of it.

You're missing the point. We don't decide were the money goes, the league does. If Barca finish 15th in the league? Same TV money.

Personally I feel the money should be going to whoever draws the most viewers. In the Champions League and in respective leagues. I think it's totally * from elbow to say, give Hearts the £2.5m TV Money because they finished last and us £100k odd or however much it would be for finishing top.

Subsidising failure isn't my favourite activity in the world.

You think the big clubs have no say in it? I'd say that's pretty naive. Celtic and Rangers had plenty say in how TV money and prize money has been divvied up down the years. It'll be the same in other countries as well.

If we had the power to direct where the money was going it would all be going to us.
