I can't believe how many people hate Barcelona just to be deliberately contrarian. It's only the "in-thing" to like Barcelona because we get on well with their fans. There is a connection -a tangible one if you bother to go down to the fan zones in Merchant Square or over in Barcelona when we play them every other year - whether you like it or not. Get over it. You don't have to be part of it.

I know, it's ridiculous. I find they're the same people who complain when we're praised by opposition players :smiley-laughing002:

"Hate this Barca-Celtic love in. Cannae stand Iniesta saying he likes us". Don't understand the mentality. Greeting faced hoor *.

Was mad, we were all just coming out and infront of us was a line of about 40 polis clapping us - pretty sure some of them were videoing us too, just to the side there was thousands of us doing a big huddle lol

Was one of the best games ive been to probably, I got lost on the way back too, ended up on the train myself and didnt have a clu where we were going if it was even the right train or nothing so just got off at a random stop and wandered the empty dark streets of Barcelona myself for about 2 hours, hardly seen anybody.

Yet it's clear that Real Madrid wouldn't be what they are today without the backing of the Spanish authorities during the era of dictatorship.

The legacy lives on, from the very name of their stadium (Santiago Bernabéu Yeste) to their massive trophy cabinet - I think we could say the great Di Stéfano took Real Madrid to their international success and created the Real Madrid legacy, he wouldn't have been able to play for Real Madrid (due to ban on foreign players in La Liga) without the backing of the government (this was before the time of great success).

The same thing has happened with Celtic and St Pauli. Absolute * fannies moaning and looking down their noses at the links between the clubs because the wider Celtic support has taken an interest in the club.

I don't see why it isn't possible to get on well with Barcelona fans when they come here, or we go there, but at the same time not like their team. One doesn't automatically have to follow the other.

I've met more nice Rangers fans than nice Hibs fans over the course of my life but there's not a * prayer of you getting me to say I liked Rangers as a club more than Hibs.

I know. We should welcome them with this next time they come to Celtic Park.

Cant stand either of the two. Both clubs fanbases are 95% gloryhunters.

Most famous one was Franco nullifying Di Stefano's contract with Barcelona for him to sign for Madrid.

Aye, that's fine. It's just some of us have taken to the club because of that.

    Don't like either of them.

Not into the whole Barca love in we have every time we play them.

Playing the Barca song and clapping Iniesta gave me the boak.

maybe it's the mentality from celtic fans. thinking everyone wants to be pals all the time.
some sets of fans just don't like or want to be pals with celtic.
    just my opinion

They played Three Little Birds after the Ajax game too, probably do that all the time, play the away fans song just nobody waits behind that long against teams like Benfica or that to hear it.
