Ideally Boruc would be in goals playing on top form but sadly he's going through a tough time with form, private life etc. So I think it'd be better for everyone in the long-term if Brown was brought in to the team the now to allow Artur to get help to sort out his problems and to give him some time away to think.

Thing is we have not had hardly any good goalies since the Lisbob Lions so saying he is the best is not that huge a compliment. I think he is the best in that period when on form but this season he has been one of the poorest in a long time, easily as bad as Gordon Marshall, Alan McNight or Rab Douglas. The bottom line is on this form he shouldnt be near the Celtic goals. If anything, I think WGS has been too optimistic about Artut. Artur seems a very hightly strung guy and he has gone totally over the edge now. Its clearly a mental issue and I dont think that will resolve for many months. So he needs dropping now and replacing (probably for a month or two) with Brown or the new Pole if we can get him early.

Noone complains about Bertie Auld who has exactly the same sort of chin, the kind where you might drown if you stand out in the rain:icon_mrgreen:

No question Boruc is having a poor season so far this year. For me though given his age and what he has done in the previous 3 seasons he is just too good for me to walk away from him yet.
Maybe there is an upside to all this in that his poor form this season may put off some other big clubs trying to lure him away and then with the arrival of the promising Zaluska this summer that fresh competition may see Boruc back to his best and still at Celtic come next season.

All you people claiming that Artur is 'finished' and we should sell him should hang your heads in shame. You are probably the same fans that said Caldwell was * but now think he's the best defender since Billy McNeill! Big Artur has been nothing short of outstanding for us for 3 seasons and then just because he goes through a rough patch you want the guy ditched. Get a grip! As the old saying goes 'form is temporary but class is permanent'. Artur is having a bad season - no doubt about it - but that doesn't mean he's finished or has suddenly become a bad keeper.

Now if you want to say that Artur needs to get his head down and work a bit harder then that I can accept but to say he's 'finished' and we should drop him like a hot tattie is * out of order and to be perfectly honest it's downright ungrateful as well. Just take a wee trawl back through the last 3 seasons and have a look at exactly how many times Big Artur has pulled us out the * or saved us from a tanking. And when you see just how often he's done it maybe you'll think twice about wanting him kicked out the door. :38::38::38: * bless the Holy Goalie!! HAIL HAIL

Yeah i agree with that. he should be dropped for a month to sort out his weight and his personall problems. they guy is probaly depressed, his marrige has broken down, its not like he has his family or close friends around him to support him so we and the club should should be doing all we can to support him through it, which i think should be a break from first team action, and hopefully he comes back stronger than ever. to sell him now unless a really good offer came in would be crazy

I seen a post from Immortal around page 6 or so and had to re-comment on this.

    I stand by my opinion of keep him and that is because;

as Immortal says, everyone should be criticised when it is needed and right now with Boruc it is needed.

But to say that because of his bad season thus far this year that we should sell him?

That is extreme, we are not a club who needs to sell, like Rangers. We are financially secure, where else would you find a goalkeeper of Boruc's class for £600k? You know where? No where.

He would command anything from £5m-£8m? Some would say £10m but i doubt it.

But that is money we do not need, no matter how large the figure may be, we get that from feauturing in the champions league group stages. Which with Boruc's help these past 2 years (behind this season) we have progressed FURTHER than the group stages and made even MORE money.

Boruc has taken the club to heart and vice versa, i just wish you(The ones who say sell) would all remember Boruc for his the 90% good that he does for this club and just slate him appropriately for the bad 10% that has only rarely cost us a goal or a game.

We still have three league titles in a row and very much on course for a fourth.

None of you will argue that!

Why sell Boruc? What good would it do? Who would replace him? and when i say that, i mean realistically.

(Edit: I feel i need to mention i have had a few drinks, if im being an * let me know, i really don't mean to be im just typing away)

    Hail Hail :)

    Great shot-stopper, great character.

He will find his form again soon enough and when he starts saving us points like he has done since he joined, then there will be no more threads like this.

Why do we always need a scapegoat?

Sell him but the problem is there is no competition for the keepers jersey because if there was he would have been sitting on the subs bench ages ago

If the filthy orc's can stand by scitzo andy goram in his time of need, i'm sure us good supporters at celtic can get behind our goalie & not ship him off at the drop of a hat. Not at his best right now granted, but he's still the same person who saved us from embarrassment on many occasions. Drop him, but don't sell the man, he can turn it around, time is a great healer!

I for one hope he stays at Celtic for the rest of his career.Top class goalkeeper who HAS made a few howlers, but he never lets you down in the big games and thats why hes so valuable to a club like us. Hes the best goalkeeper we have had in a very long time so why sell when theres not a chance in * we would find someone as good. Dont get me wrong after this latest mistake WGS has to sit down and talk to him and make a big decision whether to drop him or not. His lifestyle outside of footbal and his lazidazical approach in 'not so important games' are all that are hindering him and im sure WGS knows this and will be trying to right these wrongs as you just cant sell a guy whos won you so many games and has a presence like his as there hard to replace.

Some people like to work on when they have troubles but that is obviously not working. I would actually give him 2 or 3 weeks totally off (but can be recalled quickly if there is an injury) so he can head home to Poland, sort his affairs, visit his folks and clear his head.
