Think kyogo was offside anyway but was still a sublime pass.

His performance yesterday was much more like it, not just in his quality as that was evident anyway but I was frustrated with his application. If he keeps that desire up he will be a game changer for us.

Lost all his confidence after the Dortmund game and struggled to recover but happy to see he’s got his mojo back! Will be a big player for us in the coming months

Think Rodgers has managed him unbelievably, he’s the only player I can remember BR talking about publicly so much. Our fans got the claws out on him a bit, and it’s the price tag and the fact he’s a young player and now has completely different expectations on his shoulders considered, he’s been played through it, dropped at the right times, and backed from his manager publicly as well as BR controlling the narrative when he wasn’t playing as expected.

He started on fire and had a dip in form, and been carefully managed back towards form. It’s a masterclass of management that, and how he has done it, Engels will run through brick walls for him.

Fancy him to score against Huns, he had a few decent chances against St J, got himself into some really good positions.

didn’t appreciate the first pass in the stadium, thought it was mishit. Arne De Engels.

Kyogo 18 months ago finished that.

Did you say before the game that Engels had a virus?

No, he woke up this morning not feeling well.

He was sick. I spoke to him and we decided he'd go on the bench and Paulo Bernardo would come in and start.

    So he would have played?

He was due to start, yes

There was an incident with him in the corner at the end, is he OK?

Yes, thankfully it wasn't an inch lower or it'd have been right in the eye.

But yes, I think he's okay. It's not obviously great for the game, but yes, he's okay.

Was it a coin that was thrown?

    Yes.

Don't know why....I just cant stand him already.

No clue in what Rodgers saw to pay that kind of money for him.

Young or not with the players around him he should be doing far far better in games vs * opposition.

    * himself in tackles as well....Penalties aint gonna save him all the time.

Better get the finger out real * soon.

Kind of agree. Looks a real good player when the going is good and the weather and pitches are playable. It is used as a joke- the can he do it on a winters night, pishing down and freezing, away to Stoke. He doesn't seem to have the heart or balls to be a real top Celtic player.

But look caveat that with the fact he is a young guy moving to a new country and not everyone settles perfectly. Seems to be something missing in him though.

Yep ...Willing to give him a chance as hes new to the Country and young.

But like Khun last season...He better start showing something soon because i think he has basically done * all so far.

Main difference obviously is when Khun was here last season he didnt have that price tag over him.

Kuhn had a physical ailment though with the whole dental situation coinciding with a loss of weight, Engels has had no such issues which is why direct comparisons between their two starts can't be made like for like

Obviously wasn’t feeling right at all today or he would have played I think. Which would have probably improved us as all 3 of our midfielders that started were abysmal.

See folk can’t wait to jump on the boys neck again. If not feeling well then shouldn’t be near the game.

For me, Engels needs to be starting most games now and get him in the team ahead of Hatate. I love Hatate but yes been brutal for weeks now. It always seems to be an argument over who starts between Engels and Bernardo but for me get them both in the team along with Calmac. Engels is showing flashes of brilliance and will only get better. Can't criticise him today the game was dead by the time he came on and all 3 of our midfielders who started the game were absolutely dire.

Was saying the same in the build up to the game. Why is the debate always Engels or Bernardo when that other * passenger is there.

I thought he was better than most when he came on. Seemed to get more stuck in.
