Yeah, Engels had two good moments but it's not like he was tidy in possession either, as the stats suggest.

Folk go mad over Reo losing the ball but Engels was much the same and played less than 10 passes.

Engels and Hatate played football bad today.

I’m more annoyed at Hatate for his overall game, not just his passing. At least with Engels there’s a couple of things to be positive about tonight, whereas with Reo there’s none. One of those missed Engels passes is the cross to Idah for our best chance, for example.

I felt Hatate got turned a good few times as well but the movement from the front 3 was awful tonight. Engels had a few good moments as well. I wouldn’t really say any of our midfielders or forwards were good tonight though. Think it’s harsh to single out any, as they were all poor.

I wouldn't say Engels was bad, he showed some good touches and fine inventive play.
For me. Hatate and Kyogo were anonymous. I think Brendan stated the wrong team actually, and took far too long to adjust it.

Shame mccowan is cup tied as it means either Engels or Hatate need to start on Sunday.

    Neither deserve to

I don't think he was absolutely terrible when he came on, the free kick at the death was horrendous which most people will remember because it was basically the last kick of the ball.

Should have won a free kick after being fouled right at the edge of the box, and made a great run and put in a good ball which needed a great bit of defensive work from the Zagreb centre back to stop it being a goal.

He really doesn't take care of the ball very well. Passes are often short or intercepted.
The ball in for Idah should have been played across the 6 yard line to split the keeper and defender . It's an almost pass after a great run but it gave the defender a chance . Free kick delivery at the end was so so poor. Should have left it to McCowan.

Think the cut back is harsh. Canny play it much closer to the keeper or he intercepts it. It was unlucky I felt. The defender just does well.

Could have been played with more pace and/or a bit further in front of Idah. His overall performance that aside really bugged me. Hatate was a total disgrace and Engels didn't improve the situation at all . We need players who can look after the football.

It was * exceptional defending to stop that cut back.

The final free kick being shocking he let himself down though, if he nailed that think people would be far happier with his cameo tonight.

He was the only midfielder that ever really managed to break the lines. His final ball was poor but to be honest, the movement from the front 3 was awful all night.
