Surprised he's getting so much stick after last night. Wouldn't say he was particularly bad or good but everyone put in a shift last night and did a lot of digging in defensively.

People are too obsessed with finances man, he's a young player with a lot of potential to improve. He'll learn a * tonne during this first season. Look at Kuhn now after a 9 month settling in period and a preseason. Patience is required here.

If his form really drops we have McCowan and Bernardo waiting to come in so its not like we're overly dependent on him like we were with MOR and Hatate last season.

Think he will do well for us. Some maybe blinded by the price tag and expecting Lionel Messi. Atalanta brought on a sub last night that cost €22 million

I'm not going to write him off obviously and he deserves time but I think you can call a * performance when you see it without having to be called negative :56: the boy looked terrified at getting the ball and shat out a few tackles. I'm not having we brought him to develop him. We paid the money because we thought he would be a difference maker for us in games like this and against Dortmund.
I still think personally he will be a class signing but he does need to show a bit more.

He showed a glimpse or 2 pre dortmund. But against Ross county was worst player on park, dortmund got torn a few one they all did. Aberdeen after first 30 disappeared you can't do that at celtic

Hatate has been posted missing in most games after 60 mins. Thats assuming he turned up in the first place, which he has very seldom done.

I think he really needs to start showing why we paid £11m for him.
I feel like he has quite a good shot on him but i dont see any one area that I think he excels at.

watching him i think he is given a lot of freedom to get forward when he can. But i think he should be more positionally disciplined and try to settle in games. He gets caught too high up the pitch when we turn the ball over and i think it hangs Mcgregor and hatate out to dry.

Id be thinking about bringing in Bernardo in his place for the next game.

Inevitable when you spend as much on a player. When you have players like Bernardo and Mccowan bought for a lot less, people will naturally scrutinise the value for money

Mate you don’t like or rate anything, even when we get a great result away you will look for the negative in the result or the performance of a player. You ever thought of having a wee break from football, go and do something you enjoy, this isn’t for you man

He's gonna be immense in his 2'nd (and likely - the last) season with us
The Bhoy oozes class and has no attitude issues

To be fair, he don't have anything to do with the fee. I dont think he have been as bad as people make out. He was very unlucky not to score 2 against Aberdeen which would have us 4-0 up at HT. Yesterday he was gash though i agree. He is still very, very young which usually is a problem at CL level. He will come good.

Not the easiest thing for a 20 year old to move to another country and settle in. Especially after getting pumped 7-1 to Dortmund. Young players take these defeats much harder. The whole team have been pretty bad untill yesterday.

Just imagine the preassure on such a young guy when he came here getting praised left right and centre, getting called up for the NT, taking all penalties etc. Getting MOTM performances. He needs his confidence back.

Forget he’s only 21 sometimes … not worried about him at all, young players will blow hot and cold sometimes but you can definitely see the kind level he can hit.

I agree but there is always going to be pressure with a big price tag. At a big club, there is going to be competition and pressure. He is young but big players need to deal with pressure at a young age. Its up to BR to manage that and it might not be the worst thing to take him out of the limelight and give him a chance to regroup and reintroduce him at the right time.
He was very poor vs Dortmund as well mate.
Bernardo has come in an made a positive impact on a few occasions this season and is deserving of a start. Id argue had it not been for Engels big price tag, he would have been dropped by now and Bernardo seen more minutes.

But a transfer fee isn't directly driven by solely a players ability in the here and now - its potential, length of contract, commercial appeal, nationality, the selling clubs desire to sell etc.

I think it's unfair to use it as a stick to beat him with - by all means people can criticise the club for mis-spending if that's their view.

No doubt the ones writing him off will be all over him if he’s scores against Motherwell and has a decent game. Fickle beyond belief.

Result was very good last night but this isn't about the result it's about a player who doesn't look like he will make it here. Am not the only one critical of him he just look like he will offer nothing.
