It didn't but it isn't the first away game in recent weeks/months where he's looked out of sorts with the traffic, aggression and tempo in the middle..

The crossbar and a Maeda chance away from having a goal and assist. I'd like to see him improve his direct free kicks though.

His wee through ball for the second goal was outrageous.

Good performance, unlucky not to get a goal.

Wee flashes here and there in recent games, but overall needs to do much more to convince me.

He had a few silky moments yesterday but not involved enough.

Bags of talent but he’s still needing to knit everything together in this Celtic side.

Rattling the bar with a belter than going for a rugby drop goal seconds later sums up his Celtic career to this point.

Still think he’ll be class. Showed it loads of times already. Unreal v Bayern and pretty good v Villa and other UCL games.

He’ll be much better next season when there’s a bit more to play for.

I respect your opinions and likewise hope there is still improvement to come, but then that's not really why the club forked out £11m for him, which demonstrated a level of belief that the club has in him, to not just make an impact but to deliver. And not just from the penality spot.

Considering his entire career so far the only silverware he has actually won is the League Cup from earlier this season, you would think there would be no shortage of motivation and hunger to get his hands on the League trophy and Scottish Cup as well, should be more than enough to play for right now, and not just next season 'when there is a bit more to play for'.

I find our midfield and centre forward is quite stifled in general. A lot of the emphasis in play is getting the ball to the wide players who are primarily trying to cut inside themselves or find a full back on an overlap / underlap. Not much happens through middle other than shuffling the ball across the pitch.

McGregor sees plenty of the ball as a pivot and to take the ball from defence. But the other midfield two are somewhat under-utilised. Engles, Hatate and Bernardo (when hes played) I think have struggled to regularly be influential in this system.

I feel we go wide too often, and often far too early. I would drive the ball through the middle because it will open up space out talented wide players can exploit.

I’d instruct the CBs or midfielder to drive the ball into Hatate or Engels, and as part of the move the spare midfielder or winger should be on the move closing the space, so even if the midfielder fails to receive and turn we have the advantage in the subsequent 50/50.

When you start doing that, they’ll stop getting tight because of how often you’re turning them. People forget that players getting tight to your players is an opportunity, but you’ve got to exploit it.

Quite clearly a very good player but i want him to be more authoritative next season. Feels like he drifts through a lot of games and i want more great, less good performances.

Although in fairness, see when we are getting pressed aggressively and struggling to get out, he’s always the one dropping his marker and actually wanting the ball under pressure and not just pretending they want it (Kuhn and AJ sometimes) all down the same side which highlights it.

Needs a couple of goals other than penalties to settle him - so he can get that monkey off his back!

He's still not doing enough for me. Needs to be more commanding but hopefully that comes with time

I'm not going to bash him because there is obviously a good, young player there still gaining experience, and I am willing to give him another year to prove his worth.

But by the same token, if he ever expressed a wish to ply his trade in another league, I wouldn't stand in his way.
