Dont think the problem will be selling Celtic to some players but trying to convince them that the SPL is the place to be might just work against him.

i think he got that 1 wrong,he was raging at the lack of effort in the team and ngwemo was having a poor game so he took him off, incidentally the team never benefited that day ,he took off our only defensive mid and replaced with crossas who aint the same, his only bad move imo.ross county game.

If lenny wins the league( which i believe he will)
he will be here the year after & the year after ..etc...

If as a few of you had your choice mark hughes had got
the job & won the league the door would not catch his *
on the way out to his new contract with any epl or championshit

i actually believe that steve clark is one of a few people who would take a pay cut to be at parkhead.
he doesnt need the money anymore, he's financially set......to be at his boyhood heroes has gotta be a draw.

I notice that the older heads/more established TC posters are showing a lot more wisdom. The others are in some sort of Lenny love in that is hard to understand when you pit the cold reality of his experience on the table. The fatalistic bollicks that 'everyone is a gamble' is one of the most stupid arguements ever. Why are people so enthused by Lenny when as you point out they know very little about him as a manager. Its like hysteria with all sorts of mystic megs proclaiming the revolution and years of dominance. Normally when you claim stuff like that its because you have just gained some massive advantage. Appointing a manager with no serious experience against a guy who has won the SPL about 9 times, managed Rangers, Everton and Scotland etc is not an advantage. Its a self inflicted serious disadvantage. Anyway this has been a real eye opener. Large amounts of our fans have not a rational bone in their body and this site has become depressing through an invasion of guys like that.

You are ignoring a lot though. We don't have a lot of options for a manager. Neil Lennon knows our club and the unique challenges it faces inside out and he was trained under the best in watching Martin O'Neill.

He's a born winner, brings a steely determination that he can inspire in others and beyond everything knows how to win in the SPL.

Right now Rangers are on their knees, the club has no money they have players like Boyd who is worth a lot of points by himself leaving them and if a serious bid for one of their players come in they will probably need to accept it.

Last season the very same Manager who managed Rangers, Everton (failed miserably here by the way) and Scotland did not even do to well against our worst Manager ever in Tony Mowbray.

We finished 6 points behind him, a lot to do with the run Neil Lennon went on at the end of the season and take into account the decisions that went by us last season we were very unlucky to lose the league even while being the worst team I have ever seen play for Celtic (Been watching Celtic since 95-96)

It'll be minimal if it's anything. The team that Walter Smith had last year cost the best part of £20 million to assemble and I reckon that was them coming into their peak.

We can outspend them this summer and Neil for all his inexperience knows exactly what is needed to play for Celtic Football Club, I trust him to bring it in. Look at the players we have been linked with he is getting the experience on the pitch.

He knows what it takes to be a Celtic manager, now he may not measure up to it but I have every confidence that he will. He has been in the coaching set up with us for a couple of years now, played for us for about 6 or 7 years. He knows this league inside out.

The fact that we did only finish 6 points behind them last season, with all the atrocious decisions that went against us (a few against the Huns, Falkrirk and Dundee Utd standing out in my mind) the gap last season was a lot less than was made out and that was us being atrocious.

Trust in Neil, bring the passion and fight back to Parkhead. None of this silly bickering between Celtic fans it'll just hurt us in the long run, we need the siege mentality back. We are Celtic * everybody else.

One last thing, all the doubters who is a better (realistic candidate) to Neil Lennon? I don't think there was any. SPL holds us back.

I do not think closing gaps when the league is lost means anything. That almost always happens in the last few when a team has it in the bag or knows they cant be caught realistically. We were not unlucky to lose. Rangers were a far more together, tougher side who were a much better unit, had a far far better defence, a better established MF and better pairings up front. Their players are not world beaters but they have been a very tight unit for the last 3 years, enough to get to a UEFA final. We are miles behind having that sort of tight unit with experienced players who make less more and know how to keep it simple by having a good eye for the right moves at the right moments (football brains). No point pretending. Mogga made the side far worse, left us looking at 16 point deficit and this was glossed over by a big loan signing without whom we would probably have ended up more like 12 points behind.

16 points at it's largest yes but we were atrocious last season, take all the decisions against us and it narrows it right down.

Mogga I've said is the worst manager in our history, big loan signing or not but the gap is not as big as the league made out last season.

Lennon I believe knows what is needed look at the players he's looking at, you seem to be in the same thinking of him Campbell, Bullard experienced players who know how to play a bit but aren't scared of hard graft.

Lennon will start us of on a flyer gaurenteed, get the fans back on the clubs side to back the team.

Maybe we should come back at the end of the season and see who's right?

I wouldn't trust somebody who has never managed in the SPL for next season.
