Nobody is welcoming what happened at Fir Park. There is a much broader issue here.

Here's hoping you don't have one moment of madness then in the heat of the moment at a game and end up in court then.

Sure it'll never happen to you though.

Why would a Celtic fan feel the need to be shouting anything sectarian in the first place anyway? Especially now rangers are dead. If someone in a moment of madness shouted the n word or something at a black player I think he'd deserve a knock on the door.

I think a lot of it comes from not having a natural enemy anymore and being in a sort of limbo between getting pumped in Europe and pumping the SPFL.

Fans have always disagreed but when there is a rival, fans will always pull together to show solidarity against the enemy. Now we have no enemy I think the hostility between different parts of the club has become more vocal.

I also think the current positioning of the team is very frustrating. We play in two significant competitions each year - one in which we are near certain to win and one in which we are near certain to lose. That doesn't really make for all that exciting an experience. Without the natural thrills of football I think people look for something else to get their blood pumping.

Thing is, neither of these things will change any time soon. I don't really see a solution to it to be honest. But then I things crowds were always going to dwindle and interest was always going to wane over the near-term. Long-term I don't think this stuff will make much of a difference.

    Orange * is sectarian?

Are people just missing the point deliberately or what?

Its scary how people have been taken in by the propaganda spouted by the club and the media.
The reason the stewards harassed these boys isnt because they are power hungry wanks? Give me a break it seems like anyone involved in the club can do no wrong except those that support the GB or attempt at creating an atmosphere. For eye witnesses to come out and say that boys were harassed just for singing celtic songs with no add ons, yet people come on here and say "oh there must be more to it" is baffling.
Its scary how divided the support is. For fans to attack other fans for supporting the GB is disgusting also.

How can anyone defend the club for rejecting people at the turnstiles for wearing a certain scarf?
This is not the Celtic we all know and love

:50: Absolutely. I cant find a reason to justify rejecting people at the turnstiles for wearing a GB scarf.

Champions League campaign, top of the League, still in the only Cup that matters and we've played some of the best football I've watched in my time as a Celtic fan in the 2 games previous to today.

I'd say we were riding high personally but then I don't give the idiots attempting to make themselves more important than they are as much credence as some do. The club will move on past this minor issue, the sooner the better.

I'll ask you Hammer seeing as I've two different people with no response.

How is this going to go away? The offensive bill isn't being dropped.

Ever been to a derby match, a game against the diets? Ever sang a rebel song, shouted something in the heat of the moment?

How do you feel about a day in court for doing those things.

People that think this is going to go away with the disbandment of the GB are living in cloud cuckoo land.

It's simple really, people will just need to learn to control themselves. Those who can't will continue paying the price.

A previous poster summed it up perfectly for me. " Their is a posionous atmosphere in the club atm." Im just sad to see the singing/atmosphere disappearing from the club. And recent events have just been another chapter in what is a sad state of affairs. I'd hate to see a Celtic Park without any singing, and this is the way it looks like it is going to turn out.

Are you conducting some kind of social experiment on here Dáibhí?

You seem to change your stance from week to week.

The intelligent fans will realise that neither the SFA or UEFA want the things the fans are doing in football stadiums, done in football stadiums.

Go to a Wolfe Tones or Shebeen gig in the Barra's to sing about Kevin Barry and Aiden McAnespie. That's what I do, the Police can film me going in and out of there all they want - at least my team won't be punished for it.
