no one that i know, since that banner went up,has defended them, either at work,at the games or in the pub,i will say that they bring a good atmo to the game, when they sick to footie stuff its great, but we dont need the political claptrap,we are a football club first and foremost,a place that our grandfathers went to to end a drab working week on a high,to enjoy one of the working classes only forms of entertainment.so it is a family, cultural experience, but it is FOOTBALL.the gb are trying to hijack it for their own political ends, stick to football, cut out the pro ira, anti establishment crap, when they started yesterday with the republican stuff i just let out a sigh of complete and utter boredom, they are just detracting now from the experience they used to provide

speak for yoUr self mate and others will speak for them selves, i dont need nobody saying what i believe! this is as bad as the GB trying to tar us all with the same brush.:47:

the amount of grief i got the other night there in the pub for being a tim was unreal, the morons thought that because im a tim that also support the banner that the GB used and im afraid that were all being judged by outside fans the same way. it was on the brink of getting violent and imve not signed up to that thank you very much.

If other people in the stadium sang I would be inclined to say yes. But they don't. For this reason, the GB is brilliant.

when they sing an make alot of noise great but when they make arses of themselves and by extension make arses of the club. if they cut all there politics and just get back to supporting the club and maki noise then great.

The Green Brigade contribute massively week in week out to the very poor atmosphere around Celtic Park, they do a * of a lot of good and get next to no credit from some people.

Then one or two days in the year, they will air their political views and suddenly all the good they are doing is forgotten.

When in fact, if the club itself stopped brining the political rubbish, namely the poppy into Celtic Park, then these opinions wouldn't have to be aired and everything the GB do would be positive.

I've said this before but the GB sat down yesterday for a small amount of time and sat in silence to prove a point to Celtic, Celtic fans and the safety team, of just how poor the atmosphere would be without the GB.

These lads put hours of work into new songs, banner and decoration, I see it myself when I go into the stadium really earlier to meet friends and it's all over-looked when they have to air their political opinions.

I'm personally totally behind the GB.

The only thing about the Green Brigade that gets on my nerves is that * drum of theirs. It must be a right pain in the * sitting anywhere near that thing.

The endless 90 minute singing from the GB is quality....credit where it's due....

But lately, I have been hearing a few comments such as "We ARE Celtic" etc...

That's NOT on bhoys! Celtic is a club for all and all as equals, not just a minority!

No one group of supporters are bigger than another, and certainly not the club.

Totally behind the gb. They didnt bring the poppy up the board did. The fans met with board to.try and resolve the issue but the board refused to listen. What must the fans do? And when they take it into their owns hands it compounds the problem.
The gb have there own views weather you agree with them or not its who they are and they probaly make no appolgy for this.
    Well done the green brigade.

The GB met with the board? If so, who gave them permission to speak on behalf of 60,000 fans?

Maybe we should add an "M" into the middle of their name since they seem to want to represent a large number of people.

I don't mind them doing what they do on matchdays, but the minute they take it upon themselves to be my voice then I have a problem, no matter what my political beliefs are.

stick to singin celtic songs and people will back them......but they've crawled up their own arses.....they think they are something. they're just a bunch of fans...with more energy ( or wine ) than the rest of us.

The gb wer'nt the only supporters organisations who met with the board. These people met representing their fans. I know my supporters trust spoke for me and many like me.

I think the green brigade give Parkhead a great atmosphere, unlike my stand where no-body sings.

Reading that the board had no intention of bowing down to them so felt it would be a waste of time listening.
That doesn't give the GB the right to do what they want within the stadium.

I'm the same as a few other in here, sick of seeing numerous threads popping up all over the place about them
