This is the way I see it. I’m Irish (Live and study in Glasgow now), was brought up in Newry County Down by an Irish father and a Scottish Mother (North Lanarkshire Irish immigrant Coal mining stock). For me Celtic have always been a Scottish club (maybe because I associate them with the Scottish side of my family) but also a club with unmistakeable Irish roots and values. I for one am proud to call them a Scottish club, as well as acknowledging their Irish diasporic origins.

If a black guy from Somalia moved to Sighthill (Glasgow) with his mrs and they had a kid here, that kid would technically be Scottish, but I don’t think anyone would have an issue with saying said black baby is a Somalian wean, even though technically it’s as Scottish as Rabbie Burns sitting on a * made of Haggis whilst throwing bites of shortbread at naked photoa of the queens butler (who is as bent as Harry lauder’s Caine)

    Therefore the answer is both.
