    easy:

to me personally celtic is the biggest club in the world. arsenal is a nice team and they play unbelievable football but in terms of passion and support they don´t even come close. the hoops are unique and i´m proud to wear it.

even if celtic would play in the highland league i still would support everything our club stands for.

simply love it to be a bhoy and no money could ever buy my love. :celt_2:

Calm down pal. don´t give us "facts" based on nothing. i lived in australia for one year and most of the aussie football fans support either liverpool or celtic. we took 30,000 to a friendly in brisbane in july. in my complete time down under i haven´t seen a single ARSenal Shirt. in the same time i been to several celtic supporter clubs like brisbane csc, sydney csc, melbourne csc..... ect... and to a big celtic convention with fans from nz as well.

even on the fiji island and in honolulu i watched celtic games with the local csc. so i did in LA, Las Vegas, San Francisco, Chicago, New York, Tokio, Yokohama, Hong Kong, Orlando, etc.

the difference between us and arsenal is that the 9m celtic supporters are real supporters which are always wearing our colours and nearly all of them are going to glasgow for a game at least once a year. arsenal have their supporters sitting on the couch watching epl live games and choosing a different team every year relating to the success the team has.

    no comparison m8 :celt_2:

No offence but how many of these loyal 9mil supporters would you say are keen Celtic fans overall? A lot of these guys come from places like North America and Australia, which lets face it, are not hotbeds of support for "soccer". A lot of these people may affiliate themselves to Celtic for no other reason than their Irish ancestry. I doubt many other Americans, Canadians and Aussies would get too worked up about a team thousands of miles away from the lands of their births, who play a strange sport over in Scotland, without that significant factor.

To me that's just as easy to do as supporting a team for the fact that they are or have been very successful in what they do. As far as I see it a great deal of these people latch on to Celtic for what they see as getting in touch with their ethnic ties, rather than an appreciation of what the club is involved in. And in any case, would Celtic themselves have many more supporters beyond Glasgow without being so successful?

Now I wouldn't say that about all Celtic fans outside of Scotland, and certainly Celtic's fanbase is not to be taken lightly at all. And perhaps it is more in number than Arsenal's (varying statistics always tell different tales). One guy's seen Celtic tops worn in Brisbane, Magaluf and Boston, another guy's seen Arsenal tops worn in Nairobi, Lagos and Bangkok. Who can deduce the numbers conclusively?

So my answer to the original question is: I don't really know.

Granted you have the better team but not the bigger club, celtic were the first british team to win the cup in europe with 11 homegrown players.....will arsenal be the first british club to win it with no english/british players....?

that´s what am tryin to tell ya... the people love celtic for what it stands for and built a massive fan base throughout the world without their team being showed worldwide... arsenal games are seen by about 250 m people week in week out. but if they would play *, nobody would care about them... just another english team with big money...

WE HAVE THE HISTORY AND THE PASSION TO BE A BIG CLUB
ARSENAL HAS ONLY THE MONEY AND ARSENE WENGER

You're telling me that there are a good number fans (by no means the majority) who are interested in an institution that they have no other connection with than some ethnocentric coincidence, rather then necessarily having any interest in the sport (and sporting culture) that it is involved in.

Do all these guys really care about your next home game against Airdrie or that potentially tricky away tie at Hearts, or your past players? Or is it more that they see the paraphernalia and think "cool, I'm kinda Irish myself. Oh and look, they win the league every other year too. That's handy" And there's no need to worry about fair weather fans as you're so successful domestically they'll never need to think about going elsewhere.

This sort of thig goes for all clubs who have large fanbases. Hangers on do exist at all levels.

    Aye good mate .

Take the money away from the EPL that SKY put in only Man Utd and Liverpool would hold there own ,and Celtic would be on an even keel with them ,investment is only difference between us and them .
