Wouldn't look good for the manager at all. I'm sure he'll bring in who he wants after the money he's made the club.

This season without Champions League football is a terrifying thought.

My point was, the board knew they were selling victor and gary. Why diddnt we get replacement in at start off preseason like Balde. Give them time to settle in and give us a good shoot at Qualifiers. These players might have not started preseason yet and will lack fitness our players will have.

We brought the likes of miku in to see what he was capable of and tbh the kind of player that we will want wouldnt really be happy sittin second fiddle to hooper and vic so now theyre gone we may have interest from players looking first team football

EDIT plus with the acquisition of players like ki wanyama hooper all being bought used and sold for profit how can we even contemplate critisising park lenny and the board now is time to do the same and bring more young freah exciting players in

x2 could be one boring season.
On the bright side we could focus on a treble.

We should of brought Johnny Russell in early doors for 700k.

He would of settled quickly being from here and been handy in the first couple qualifying games if Hoopers injured. Would of made a very decent squad player with potential.

I've got complete faith in Neil Lennon, John Park and "The Board" doing what is right for our club.

the dangers of people being blatantly ignorant of economics in football, we most certainly did not 'MAKE' that much money from ki or the champions league

What if vic had decided to run his contract out?

    & gary is still here.

So the board , & lenny don't know exactly when the player is going.

    Sack the board , lenny,&park:bbpd:

agreed, we should be bringing players in as soon as we can, like you say, if we stumble out in these qualifiers, the board will get pelters, & rightly so.

I think it is too early to judge but the lack of signing and the likely selling of Hooper along with Wanyama is enough to concern me. We are in such a unique position that our success for the season will be determined pretty much by 6 games at the very start of the season.

That in mind I just sense things are moving far too slow. A lot with come down to the luck of the qualifying draw this season. We still should be good enough to beat most of the teams we are likely to get, but I think no doubt we will be a poorer team than we were last season.

Balde has came in, that 'replaces' an out going Hooper.
Van Dijk has come in, with the likely hood of Efe being moved forward to replace Wanyama.

There is your two replacements known before they are even out the door. Any other movement with regards to Watt going on loan will see us make more noise elsewhere. Though I have a feeling Atjic will be taken the place of Watt as the youngster to freshen the place up.

So minus the loss of Rogne, Lassad and Miku, we are as strong as we were last year - in regards to positional strength. Efe, Van Dijk and Balde need more time in their (new) roles before we judge them at all.

If we reinvest the money from the sale of two players in three or four more (plus Balde and Van Dijk), I see no reason to draw that conclusion.

    weaker

    - we are going to be weaker than last season , -IF we don't make at least 2 good signings. Remember , we weren't good enough last season to win the treble and we may struggle to get as far as we did in Europe if we don't add some quality replacements.
Time will tell and I not judging yet.:50:

I am confident that signings will be made and we will be an even stronger team this Season that last.

Having a replacement waiting would lower their price as they wouldnt be needed by us as quickly, and why buy another player when we still have the old, if the deals dont go through we have too many players in one position

besides our replacement for Vic is Kayal

We did pretty well last season if you look at it from a purely statistical viewpoint, but I remember watching game after game of dross. The "football" on display at times was embarrassing (cue posts saying my post is embarrassing).

If we are going to progress as a team - even with this successful, and correct in my view, business method, we need to have CL football. Lennon himself has stated that we are under prepared, but we shouldn't be. It's no secret that these qualifiers were happening, and when they were happening.

Without the competition from the morons at Snake Mountain, you do get the impression that we are only going to do the minimum to get by, and this is only going to mean being good enough to win the SPL. Our magnificent CL campaign last season has given us the best clout in recent years to lure players to theses shores, and young "prospects" will be more likely to come to us, as they have seen the success with others - Ki and Wanyama.

I just hope we don't * this up as we have a great chance to create a young, but experienced team that can keep us at a decent level for many years.

I just have a feeling we won't make the CL this year. At the moment our team is at its weakest since Lenny came in. We need at least three more signings before we can think of the Champions league.
