seems pointless as he’s better than all our options and would make a difference now.

 

So it’s pointless to take a fairly fortuitous, random and rare opportunity to sign someone who would ‘make a difference’ next season just because he can’t play now? V short-term thinking.

It’s not that we’re generally in the market for a free agent to see out the league for us, and that this is the guy we’re after. It’s just an opportunity that’s presented itself, and I don’t think we should pass it up.

 

Would make up for the loss we will probs make on Abada now because of all these politics

It’s that he can’t contribute straight away so seems pointless in that respect is what I mean as if we lose a winger he can’t play till the summer

 

From a purely business point of view, getting him in would make us big in Arabia - Kerching lol

Also a very * talented player if you get him inspired and motivated, and only 28.

We will never ever look at it, because our board would never want to look like they’re endorsing what the fans do, but honestly it’s something we should be looking at now he’s made his interest clear.

Clearly inspired a wee pilot for him, if he gets the passion of 60k fans behind him at Parkhead, he could be an inspired signing for us. Some players thrive when they feel valued, and backed, and something to play for. This * one of they types.


We’ve seen that work in our favour before, Joe Hart was like that and found his mojo again when he signed and had something to play for, Paddy Roberts was lost for years not having that passion behind him until finding similar at Sunderland.

* go back far enough, Jorge Cadette had it here and could never find it again before or after, and still talks about regretting it.

I just * love that nobody has said it, he was born and raised in Netherlands, and has played every level of football for them. From all the youth teams to 2 caps for the National Team.

As its a no brainer in footballing terms, but our board don't really care about football..

 

Its comments like this that dont make any sense.

Off course our board care about football, how could they be that reckless. They have a clear mandate to finish one millimeter ahead of the huns

 

When he got released in the summer I suggested he wouldn’t be a bad shout then for us to consider, particularly given Abada got injured for so long just after the window shut.

That was before the escalation in Israel/Palestine or his comments, Abada’s situation. He is at a good age, has top league experience and ability that could stand out in our league without a fee.

As you say I can’t see our Board doing it because of how they would be seen for doing so.

 

Not bumping because we are in for him but just seen he won his case against Mainz for wrongful dismissal regarding the pro-Palestinian posts. Buzzing for him.

 

Unfortunately our shitebag of a board wont go near him even though he’d be a fantastic signing.
