i really like stokes but i think hes way down the pecking order,with hooper lassad miku and watt ,us playing 1 up top at times, hes gonna have to really up his game to be a regular starter imo ,which isnt a bad thing i think he has it in him to be even better

 

I think he will be 3rd choice to be honest when he comes back, i personally don't think stokes is good enough for the champions league level. Just my opinion of course.

 

We should definitely hold onto him for the time being, when he's on form he's a real threat.

 

I'm not sure how much of a future Stokes has at Celtic.

 

agreed but injuries happen so having back helps with depth.

 

I dont know what people have against Stokes, Since he has come too Celtic he has done nothing but score goals and been committed to the cause re: killie game last year. Yes he has off days but so does every player including Hooper! Maybe if he had a bit more of a foreign sound too him like Lassad, Miku both of whom have done * all hed be better regarded by some of our support?

 

The only person blocking him from a place in the team is Watt. Lassad and Miku havent done enough to keep a player like Stokes out the team .... But Watt on the other hand does deserve a place infront of him at the minute.

Would love to see a front 3 of miku, hooper and stokes in the Spl that would rip teams a new *.

When was the last time he played for us? Must be start of this season or the end of last season surely?

I dunno either but I would say he's probably the most unpopular Celtic player. Nearly everyone is loved by the fans atm and there are few people like Rogne who no-one really loves or hates but Stokesy seems to wind everyone up

Think it's cos he's offside so much and misses the most chances out of our strikers, he's missed a bad amount of open goals.

 

I dont think it is because he misses chances or the offside thing. I genuinely feel there is a disliking of him because hes maybe not glamorous enough maybe Im way off the mark?. I realise he maybe not everyones cup of tea but his goal scoring record is great. Our bread and butter is the SPL and his record is superb!

 

I think it's just the way he plays. Same as with Sammy before he turned it round, Stokesy always seems to walk about with his head down looking like he's in a huff, Celtic fans just always prefer people like Kayal or Broony who do stupid * sometimes but are more active and passionate.

Not saying Stokesy isn't a passionate tim btw but on the pitch he's very calm and sometimes doesn't look too bothered, jus his natural body language.

 

Maybe your right bout the body language but a striker should be judged by goals and Stokes scores goals. I also think he does contribute to the team apart from goals. Anyone who thinks he is behind the new signings is mad, he is a proven goal scorer in the SPL.

 

His body langauge was certainly passionate when he was stopping Neil from getting the sack at Kilmarnock last year.

I think he's good, but I don't see a lot potential for more. With the rest of the team rife with young talent that has high potential, it wouldn't surprise me to see us go out for someone with more future promise. All that said, fair play to Stokesy. He's had some wonderful performances at Celtic and is judged to harshly on his off games.

 

Stokes can bang goals in and also link play up well with his team mates he will have a big part to play when he comes back...

 

I like Stokesy but tbh i've not missed him in the slightest.

 

I have, we've been far less clinical without him.

Even on Saturday there where we stuck on 5 it could have been about 12.
