Normally I feel sorry for Stokesy when he gets left out for the Rangers games. But to be fair, last night Neil Lennon was quite within his rights to pick Sammy, Forrest and Hooper. Maybe the next 'Old Firm' game will be Stokesy's time. I hope so.

It just so happens Sammy is playin well the now and rightly deserved his place. But I wanty see Stokes n Hooper against these hun * man. Honestly think they would run riot, especially at home. As good a partnership as we`ve had in a good few years.

No worries about Stokes, he's played his part so far this season, we wouldn't be in the position we're in without his contribution :50:

Aye, my cousin was sayin to me last night(he's a currant bun) that Jelavic and Lafferty are a better strike pairing than Hooper and Stokes.

    Oh right. :bbpd:

I have no worries, Stokes will still have a massive part to play in our title charge.

Feel a bit sorry for him but he just got injured at the wrong time and Sammy siezed his oppurtunity.

Weather made Samaras the ideal selection to play up front. Made sense. I admit I was disappointed when I didn't see Stokes' name on the team sheet, though.

    His time will come :50:

When I rewatched the game when I came in I seen Thommo saying "relax, relax, relax" to him as he was fuming about Laughertys foul. And then just before he was ready to come on Thommo shouted "Stokesy(and gave him one of those looks) remember what I told you" lol

He still came on and had a wee swipe at Laugherty.

He was right to leave him out last night because of his injury, if he was fully fit however, he would have started imo.

never really expected him to walk back into the team especially they way we have been playing during his absence, he has played his part so far and will continue too during the remainder of the season

What's going to happen to Stokes when we sign another striker in Jan? Unless we sign a poorer physical striker is he going to get enough starts to appease him?

I fear for his Celtic career if I'm honest.

I wish we could play with like 15 players to accommodate everyone

    Forster

    Matthews Rogne Maj mulgrew izzy

    Forrest Brown Kayal Wanyama Samaras

    Ki Commons

    Stokes hooper

Now who's gonnae beat that team ?

Good back-up for when Hooper's injured.

Like HP said, it's a squad game. I would not fear for his future.

If we sign some one like Baba or Rhodes then yeah i would say Stokes will get used to a certain life on the bench.

but i do not think we will sign a striker so would say Stokes will be safe.

Just back from injury and hard to drop Sammy bearing in mind his recent form. I do have to admit, though, that I would have played Stokes up front with Hoops, with Sammy on the left and Forrest on the right - particularly as Broony has done nada since his return.

Thankfully Neil picked the right team to win the game. No doubt Stokesy will be back up front with Hoops in no time!!!

    Hail Hail

Stokes has been brilliant this season and arguably his goals at Kilmarnock probably saved Lenny's job.

He's definitely been unlucky not to start against the huns, whether through injury or non-selection.

I think Stokes and Hooper with Sammy and Forrest on the wings is our most potent attack. However the whole shape of the team is changed to accommodate our captain which really detracts from our potency going forward.

Stokes and Hooper have an understanding that's almost telepathic and Stokes really knows how to finish.

Lenny's man management skills will be tested trying to keep everyone happy.:shamrock:
