just hope he takes the chance on the big ocasion and doesnt fail were lennon has always thought he would hope he proves the point its weird this time last year how much people me included loved hooper and were saying hooper for england were all along stokes was always on a par with goals and assists but this year its oposite and i dont feel stokes gets anywere near the praise hooper did las year

As long as he is fit Stokes will be our main striker for the foreseeable future, that includes derby matches.

    In my opinion of course.

Just as a quick response to oflinn83, maybe you should try listening to post match interviews once in a while?
    http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/15807280.stm
""He has had a few off the field disciplinary problems but there is no doubting his talent."-Neil Lennon.
You can listen to the full interview on the page I linked. I think Lenny is probably better informed to talk about Stokesy's off-field issues than yourself. Or is he not a Celtic fan now?

He's been our most important player this season, we'd be * without him this season. If we manage to win the league, he should be credited with pulling us through this bad patch and saving Lennon his job. He deserves all the praise he gets, he'll become a favourite among our support.

Stokesy, Stokesy, Stokesy, puts it past the goalie..

Been by far our most consistant player this season.

    17 starts 2 sub appearances 11 goals 5 assists

    Interestingly enough as well:

    Gary Hooper

    17 starts 2 sub appearances 8 goals 3 assists

Think you'll see Hoopers stats shoot up when he hits a vein of form. He's not totally in form the now but he's still scoring a lot and setting up as on the weekend.

Wow, they've combined for 19 goals in what I assume is 19 games.

we saw it last season if Stokes and hooper play the goals will come, i'd like to see Commons playing on the wing ahead of Forrest, he just needs a goal and he'll be back up and running again.

If he's on tonight, I can see him getting 1 or 2.

:97: seriously? forrest makes everything happen ...completely undroppable , and homegrown to boot . he should be the first name on the sheet for me .

commons has done * all for ages , if he gets form again he can play on the other wing ..

I think hOOper should be scoring more of course. I hoped we had someone that was going to get 1 goal in every less than 2 games.

I know he's had a bad patch and hopefully he can get a few in the next two games.

Hooper and Stokes should be looking to fill their boots with the next two home games :bbpd:

These next two games coming up should be easy pickings for our two top strikers. I would expect Stokes to grab a couple tonight and maybe Hooper chipping in with one or two.

He is deadly and has been proving that lately. I think he will have his eye on SPL top scorer this year......

I think if he stays for a few years, he will have his eye on knocking Boyd off the top :celt_2:

    Stokes

Mods pleae do yer stuff and merge with whatever other thread exists.

Felt sorry for Stokes tonight. Again he was overlooked, came on and was booked for a * all foul.

Hope he doesn`t take the cream puff and wanty leave because he`s left out the huns games but i honestly wouldn`t blame him if he did.

Think if Lennon started with him n Hooper up front tonight we would`ve won comfortably.
