It's his 'party animal' reputation that gives fans this impression of him having a poor attitude.

Anyone who knows anything about playing football knows that while you can have ability, you won't maintain that ability without working hard in training. Some of the skills Stokes pulled off during games last season were bound to have been tried a few times on the training ground.

I'm sure I made a thread a while back about Stokes not getting enough credit, seems he's still not receiving it from some people. He'll score goals in the SPL but he's also proved he's got a lot more to his game. His assists alone tell us that, however his movement is what has impressed me the most.

ANTHONY STOKES believes he's destined to have the greatest season of his life - thanks to a heart-to-heart with boss Neil Lennon.

The pair haven't always seen eye-to-eye over the striker's role at Celtic.
Stokes' future was even cast in doubt when Lennon left him stewing on the bench for last season's Co-op Cup Final.
But Stokes says their rocky relationship is now a thing of the past and he's desperate to prove his troubles are behind him by firing Celtic to glory in next week's SPL opener with Hibs.
Stokes said: "I have no fears about my future here.
"I have had fallouts but it has never been anything major. He has always been honest and told me where I stood. Never once did he tell me my future was in doubt.
"I think he is on everyone's back. He wants the best for everyone and wants us all to improve.
"At times I haven't done the business and it's his job to pull me up.
"It'd be worse if your manager wasn't honest with you. At least you know where you stand.
"I just have to do the business on the park when I get my chance. If you are playing every week at a club like Celtic, you should be aiming at 25 or more goals a season."
Stokes scored 22 in his debut season at Parkhead, forming a stunning partnership with Gary Hooper as Celts grabbed Scottish Cup glory in May.
Yet he insists he still has much to learn.
He confessed: "I was disappointed last season. In the first game against Rangers I played out wide and didn't have the best of game of my life.
"There were games I was involved in, like at Ibrox at the end of the season, I felt I showed I had matured. I played the game and not the occasion. I listen to the advice the gaffer gives me and try and take it into the matches. I am getting there."
The Stokes-Hooper partnership - which plundered 45 goals in total last season - still wasn't enough to land Celtic the title they craved.
And that's why Stokes, impressive on the tour of Australia, insists they need to do more.
He said: "As strikers, we always have some sort of target but the main thing is that we win games.
"You saw how tight it was last year and it will be the same this season. Every match is important.
"Looking at last season, I think we could have done more, scored more, especially in the games we didn't win. As strikers we didn't really turn up in those games and, as a team, we need to improve if we're going to win the title.
"Hopefully the disappointment of missing out last time will spur us on. We have to win the title."

Stokes shrugged off comparisons with ex-Rangers striker Kris Boyd.
It's been claimed by some that the Republic of Ireland ace doesn't work hard enough.
But as he geared up for tonight's friendly clash against Melbourne Victory, Stokes said: "I don't think that comparison is fair. My link-up and hold-up play is good.
"If you look at my assists I had over ten. As a striker if you are not scoring the next best thing is to set up goals.
"I just use the criticism to try and make me a better player. I know you can improve on every aspect of your game - but as a striker I am judged by my goals."

How big a season could this be for him? Last ear wasn't starting our big games but seems to be buzzing at the moment if he keeps it going URL make it impossible to drop him for the bigger games. Top scorer in the spl this season ?

He is top class and should start against rangers. I was so glad to see hooper got a goal as that shows he has still got despite it being a tap in. Hope to * it is not a serious injury. Stokes looks unstoppable ATM.

Stokes was superb today. A good poachers goal to start the day and brought a few decent saves out of Pernis after that. But it was his all round game that was so impressive today. He held the ball up well and linked well with our other attacking players.

Stokes was brilliant today. He showed great vision, and we all know that he's got a great eye for goal.. He should be one of the first names on Lenny's team sheet.

I'm a big fan of Stokes, and said on here that I was excited at the thought of him playing up front for us where so many chances would fall his way.

Great finisher, probably the best at the club just now.

Fantastic all round striker. Currently our best player and will be vital for us in the games against the huns this year. Hopefully Lenny realises he deserves to start against them

He was excellent today. Hardly gave the ball away and got involved in our passing game which came as a bit of a shock to me! More of the same and he stays in the team. Simple as that.

He's worked on his game and has improved in all areas. Works harder for the team, quicker and above all confident. Number one striker at the club.
