I think Lenny sees Stokes as our Kris Boyd. Well except that he's not a fat, cake scoffing, ugly hun.

He will score against the bottom 6 teams etc but not so good the higher the opposition are. Personally I agree with this and think we need far better for Europe. I would rather Lenny went out and bought a good quality front man and Stokes, Hooper, Sammy, and Murphy could battle it out to be his partner. With Hooper being the favourite from that lot.

Against the bottom 6 teams? That's nuts.

How did you come to that conclusion? and the Kris Boyd comparison? Stokes is a far more rounded complete player, that is why he had the most assists for us this season.

i think its a bit of a mystery. everywhere he has went he has caused trouble. however not much sign of that at celtic.

i think he is a player when on his day is great. when on a ordinary day can provide a bit of magic but you have to carry him. in games v huns i honnestly dont think hes up to it so maybe lenny see that.

however i wont slate him as i have done before as i am in a good mood, but it wouldnt be a major loss if he went imo. any striker at celtic should be scoring 20+ with the spl the way it is atm and the amount of chances we create!

It was more of an example than a definitive. Its obvious to see however that Lenny does not trust him for the big games, as his appearances against the huns showed (lack of them). I am beyond confident that when we play in Europe as well, Stokes will not start. He is good in the SPL to an extent, but not good enough to move on to another level imo.

I also think he gets stuck with this "can't play against Rangers" tag which is unfair considering he has barely been given a chance against them. When he was at Hibs I'm sure he scored a fair few against them.

Fair point, which I agree with. My comments were my opinion on what I think Lennon classes him as.

I think with the Rangers games Stokes was unlucky, purely because of Samaras height. Useful for defensive corners etc which Rangers are very good at.

I would be confident of a Stokes - Hooper partnership at home in Europe. The movement and play between the two is sensational. Stokes link up play with the midfield is also very good.

When we have Commons, Hooper and Stokes on the field the fluidity to the play is absolutely brilliant. I know were you are coming from regarding Lenny but I really think we need to keep Stokes no matter what, he's still young and looks a fantastically well rounded player.

I hope he grows up and matures in the Hoops because he is a good player just now and when he peaks I reckon he will be one * of a player.

That as well, won as the penalty and his movement gave Davie Weir a lot of problems. I was disgusted when he didn't get on in the league cup final.

Scores for fun, never given the oppurtunity in an old firm which is beyond me. Hope he stays and is given more of a chance next season

A rotten unprofessional attitude, selfish most of the time and plainly just not good enough. He was rotten without Hooper last season. In fairness he scored a few goals but very inconsistent, wouldn't mind seeing him leave.

the first game he played right midfield against the huns which isn't his position, and when he came on against them at ibrox he totaly changed the game, so i dont know where this myth is he doesn't turn up against them.????

I'm not too down on Stokes mate, its just that I dont think Lenny rates him too much. Personally, I would rather we aim for higher quality but there's no doubt he did well for us last season. In fact I was known to have the odd "debate" with some of our fellow fans who were too quick to criticise him imo.

When I compared him with Boyd, it was not so much a bad thing. We still need to score against St. Mirren/St. Johnstone and the like. Remember that Boyd is the all time top SPL scorer (hold on...:99:) so if Stokes gets near that figure with us, then I wont complain.

I cannot see him being the long term answer though (in Lenny's eyes) and I dont think he will get a regular chance against the huns or in Europe.

He scored 3 goals less and Hooper but had the most assists.

Imo Stokes is as every bit as good as Hooper. Do not understand why so many people want him dropped. I would be very confident going into next season with Stokes and Hooper up front with a decent backup on the bench

I'm a fan of Stokes, and particularly the striking partnership him and Hooper have developed. I want to see what the two of them fully fit can do in a season.

with lesser opponents, Stokes and Hooper YES but they are not, to good in the box
with a defending team, as i feel they haven't got the trickery to find space for them self. OMO, i feel Mc Court has more to offer with maloney in such a crowded area with the ball to be played in and around the D. on open play Sammy, Stokes, and hooper all day.
