Not to go off topic but I think the comparison between Baldé and Wanyama may be a good one. Both were bought for their physical attributes. Victor's football improved massively between his arrival and his leaving. I think Baldé could be absolutely phenomenal in time.

He has yet to get the chance to prove himself in his proper position in Europe, we all know he won't be up there with Messi and Ronaldo but if people are judging him based on this years group stages then that's a bit unfair....... we were awful and by his own admission he had a poor start to the year.

Also not you, but there's some on here who'd love to see the back of him full stop.

They are different positioned players though? We have to compare Balde to players of his position. Maybe different styles but at 18 Stokes was running riot and then at 20 with Hibernian, he was even better.

Wanyama came on leaps and bounds at Celtic and at 22, has left a better player. Balde is 22 now, how long is it going to take for him to improve? He wasn't trusted enough to be played by Sporting Lisbon, nor was he great at any of the clubs he was on loan to. To me he just seems like a player that relies on his physicality moreso than anything else. He's like a headless chicken on the ball, that hopes for the best. His touch is atrocious.

I'm not even sure he should be loaned out - will that help? Will he learn anything, or would he learn more here? But then that begs the question, how long can we wait - he's 22?

Watt is a far better player and he's what, 20?

Suppose people develop at different ages but I just can't see a hint of anything special in Balde.

I think Anthony Stokes is playing some of the best football of his career at the moment. I love watching players like him who can take their opponent out of the game with one skillful touch and create chances for others. In addition to his assists he will probably score over twenty goals this season and that is a good return from him.

His form has been magnificent since he has linked up with Leigh Griffiths .
Funny the Daily Record has tried to destroy both . The bar where Tony was alleged to be in think the picture was doctored . Is the club in Govan in some sort of trouble and does the
D R feel it has to try to support the sinking ship.

Stokes I though was playing pretty well in general this season but no doubt about it. Since Griffiths came on board the goals have started to flow again and Stokes has been excellent.

20-goal season for the 4th time in his increasingly solid career.

Far and away my favourite Celtic player.

Huh, well that is interesting, don't know whether that is good or bad for Stokes.

    I love Stokes.

Some daft Sevco fan on twitter said Stokes nicked her phone in a club and copied in the Record and the Sun. When people started pulling her up, the tweets were deleted.

They are desperate to tarnish Stokes' reputation at every opportunity

If you compare numbers as mere numbers, then that's does'nt do any justice at all to Pukki and Balde or numbers themself. In Schalke Pukki played pity minutes but he scored one goal in about 190 minutes.

His minutes there were very poor after coach Ralph Rangnick's resignation as head coach. Very similar to minutes what he plays this year.

Like you I play now with numbers. This year Pukki has played 291 minutes and shot 3 goals. That makes one goal in a game. That's a very nice result for Pukki. In March-April he was 61 minutes on the pitch and shot one goal. That means he shot two goals in one and a half game. That's already sensational!
