Think we'll just have to agree to disagree on this one. I think Stokes is better than Samaras and you feel the opposite which is fair enough. Anyway I'm off to the pub to no doubt have a similar argument about some other aspect of the team.

 

This is bang on the money

 

it's simple really when Hooper and Stokes start together it's a near certainty that one of them will score because of the partnership they have built and until they play together against "bigger" teams then it's a waste of resources IMO.

Reason I say that is because they both love scoring so in a way they both stay pretty central which means that the two CB's of any team have to individually mark one each rather then just marking one player out the game totally as the other one would then have the space to bang in the goals.

Also because they stay central:

1. When we actually cross a ball there is two people there waiting.
2. it gives the wingers like Commons, Brown, Izzy and Wilson the space and options to work their magic.

and the only "big" league game they played together in against hearts were we beat them 4-0 the two of them we nothing short amazing together as like it's been said before they bounce off each other.

when we need goals those together are the only option to offer that, if we need goals from a defensive counter game then Sammy is the man he's seems better when he's playing with himself:icon_mrgreen:

 

Anthony Stokes needs to take a look at himself. He's only just arrived at the club. Fair enough he's top scorer but there's too many games where he doesnt show up. You have to be consistant to play for a team like Celtic. Also look every top team around the world has to leave out someone. I mean look at Adebayor at Man City or Raul when he was at Real. You cant play more than 11 players and all you can do is wait till you get your chance and show that your good enough to be in the team. Moaning about it gets you nowhere and will most likely make your situation worse

 

Stokesy is better than sammy hence he should play. When Hoops and Stokes play together we'll get goals guaranteed, they've gelled so quickly it's untrue. It could be worse my only Celtic supporting mate would rather see Hooper dropped and Sammy and Stokes up front he also thinks Murphys good though.

 

Hes been just as consistent as hooper, 17 goals in 27 games along with a handful of assists , hardly inconsistent. Christ look at sammy if you have a problem with players not being consistent.
Hes getting stick for no good reason especially considering hes came out and denied all that crap the hun media wrote about him, and pledging his future to celtic in the process.

 

Stokes should be patient & train well.
He will get his chance !!!

Stokes usually plays when he's fit. Samaras deserved his place due to playing a couple of blinders, it didn't work on cup final day and now it's back to Stokes.

It's just the way football works.

I like having Stokes, and hope he stays. He's a good player at times, can score in the SPL, is a good quality rotation striker to have in our squad, is Irish, fairly young but with a bit of experience, and has a personality. All good traits.

Stokes is crap. I don't care if he goes, we need better players than him to be honest. I wasn't a fan of Samaras but in the last few games against the huns he's giving a good a roasting as we have given their defence in a long time. I don't know why we have to always compare Stokes to Samaras. Hooper was shocking the cup final, far worse than Samaras. We are only talking about it because we lost. Back to Stokes though. In games where we have dropped stupid points he is usually the main culprit for a shocking performance. I just don't think he's got the consistency to make it here. Let's be frank, Lennon ain't daft. He expects far more than Stokes has offered for a Celtic player. He just isn't the required standard. Squad player at best. Should only be used for the lesser games.

we hav played our best football when him and hooper are upfront and ther link up play is one of the main reasons for that
