Can't argue with that,he had a spell a few months back where he really dipped and not only was i wanting him benched but possibly out the door to freshen things up :52:
I showed i can be fickle aswell..
I fully expect him to nab another couple on this form at least and his record against dundee united is good,so another good omen for the last game of the season..
    21/22 i think..

I've not seen the game yet, people are raving about him Griffiths and Commons as a trio. No way we can play all 3 in Europe, though, is there?

We can definitely play Commons and definitely should. I was just wondering if we could play all 3 at the same time. I doubt it, but thought it worth asking.

I don't see why not, We could play with 3 centre mids in a 4-3-1-2 formation and work it with the players we have.

    Forster

    Lustig Ambrose VVD Emilio

    Johanssen Brown Kayal

    Commons

    Stokes Griffiths

We could, at home, against the weaker teams. Not against the top teams though.

Very rarely will we face weaker teams on paper in Europe though. The Group Stages we certainly couldn't play with all 3. 2 up top would be a dangerous game, never mind 3. We still require someone to play the lone striking role in Europe for us in my opinion.

There are no ''weaker'' teams in the CL.

I disagree with that, if we ever face a situation where we are against the likes of Aalborg again I would be wanting us to go for the throat.

The likes of Spartak Moscow last year we could also afford more men going forward than we could against the likes of Barcelona.

We've faced the likes of Aalborg, Copenhagen and Rosenborg in the Champions League before. We can afford to go more attacking against teams of that nature.

Unlikely, with us being 4th seeds just now but if we keep getting into Europe and picking up points then we will be moving upto at least 3rd IMO.

Agreed with that, Ajax were definitely weaker than Barcelona this year, which is what I was getting at.

We won't because we are a fourth seeds. The fourth seeds are stronger now than they ever have been. I wouldn't call the likes of Real Sociedad, Napoli and Anderlecht weaker teams than us. Even Copenhagen are well above us in the coefficient rankings and they done better in a harder group.

We are a really mediocre side in European terms and it was shown up this season.

You have missed the point. There are very few/if not no weaker teams than us in the CL nowadays.

Viktoria Plzen would give us a game. I bet you don't even know the first thing about them. Czech champions with a team full of Czech internationals. I would stop short of calling them a weaker team than us.

Devlin talks about Aalborg as a weak team. Has he forgot we drew with them at Celtic Park and lost in Denmark ? Open your eyes we're one of the weakest teams in the competition.

I addressed that fact in the bottom half of my post. I'm not just talking about just now, I'm talking about in the future as well. There are times, especially at home, in the Champions League that we can afford to go slightly more attacking than we have been.

And I think that will be proven next year as well with Samaras leaving, we played the way we do in Europe to Sammy's strengths. You'll see a different approach next year.

How many times have Aalborg qualified for the last 16, Spellcheck?

What has that got to do with anything ? They finished above us last time we drew them as a ''weaker team'' in the CL.
