I think that's because he sticking more central since his injury. In his first few years he'd either come really short or pull wide.

Pretty disappointed by this too, to be honest. Even so, I don't think he'll leave, I'm sure both parties can come to an agreement. For some reason when Hooper turned down his I didn't feel disappointed, more just of a "ah *" kinda reaction, must be just because Stokes is a Celtic man and I kinda just expected him to sign on straight away on the same/slightly better terms (which no doubt are not too shabby anyway.

    Get it done :50:

Really disappointed and surprised, it was only a week or so ago he was saying he was desperate to sign a new one.

Think I've been watching a different player. He can do a * of a lot better in this regard. Particularly when we're losing his decision making is shocking when it comes to going for personal glory or finding a team mate.

He has refused due to the terms. Obviously he wants a bit of security (more cash) which is understandable considering the profession has a short life span.

I think when we are losing he tries to do something different and takes responsibility. I think at times (3-3 with Kilmarnock!) it works.

I would never label him selfish; he wouldn't consistently set up as much as he does (always one of the highest assisters since he has been here) if he was a selfish player.

If he really has rejected the contract extension, it must be because Lenny has told him he might not be a starter next season. Pretty obvious he is after 2 strikers, in the preparation for Hooper possibly leaving.

Stokes is at a club where he is pretty much loved, I can only imagine the lack of first team football is putting him off.

Don't blame Stokes one bit, he's far too good to sit on the bench. Said it on another thread but if we let him walk away and then sign Doyle I'm going to have sumcunt.

I'm with you on that one:smiley-laughing002:. I'd be * raging if we lose Stokes, especially at a time when Hooper looks set to be offskis too.

Every time I've seen him in interviews he seems a decent guy, he doesn't seem up his own * or anything in the way you know other selfish players are (Neymar, Robben for example). So maybe it's the pressure, or maybe he is just rash and too fired up to clearly make decisions on the pitch (think of how fired up he was for his first derby, could have got sent off in the first minute) but I've noticed it happen in enough games that I would consider it a problem within his game. I do always find it funny that that Killie game always gets brought up within any discussion about him when look at how he scored, a free kick Mulgrew would normally take and a speculative long range shot.

In the same way that Samaras makes decisions on the pitch best when he has no time to overthink them, Stokes needs that time, which is why when we're behind he often goes alone when another option is better.

Not too worried about this I think he will stay.

He`s maybe just chancin his arm to try and get a wee bit more money.
