Stokes was seduced at the age of 19/20 by a club offering him ridiculous wages, and the chance to work with an Irish icon.

I was gutted at the time, but I can understand why he chose to go to Sunderland.

I'm just so glad he wears the colours of his beloved now :50:

I think Hooper is a far better finisher but Stokes can score goals Hoops could only dream of. You very rarely see Hooper shoot without scoring, Stokes is more speculative.

I was made up for him when he started today because he's been left out the big games time and time again. He started today and produced the goods. Two great assists and that doesn't come as a surprise, he's so creative for a striker - Hooper must love playing alongside him.

Another great performance from Stooper. Has to take a lot of credit from the team performance today.

I dont remember him scoring any from outside the box. He is excellent and dropping deep to link up though.

    Total pen box striker.

I think we have to remember Stokes was out for six months of the season with injury, but yet seems to have had a great season. Hooper has now scored 31 goals, and these two seem to be made for each other. Both immensely talented players in their own right, who synergise well together, and have their own natural competitive edge between them to see who is best.

Only goal I can genuinely remember him scoring from outside the box is v Spartak at Celtic Park.

That being said, I have no problems with him being a "penalty box striker", but Stokes has totally different dimensions as a striker.

No problems for me either, I think thats why they complement each other so well.

Hooper has aspects in his game that Stokes wishes he had aswell though, for example strength and hold up play.

Love him. Absolutely * love him. Give the man the contract he deserves. My favourite player since Henrik

Wouldn`t mind seeing this next season if Hooper leaves

The way Lenny embraced him after the game says it all.

I'm not sure if I can even express what that meant in words really.

    He's profound.

They were both inside the box, his only one outside (I think) was against Kilmarnock in the 6-0 game that clinched the league last year

Thought Stokes was brilliant yesterday, deserved his MOTM, two great crosses for Hooper's goals, and a great piece of skill in the move for the third.
