He saved Lennon's job an entire year prior to the Barcelona game.

At that time, we were 3-0 down at Rugby Park and 15 points behind the dead filth.

Without Stokes' contribution, the rest of Lenny's reign since then might not have been possible, as Neil himself has admitted he would have either been sacked or walked away if we had lost to Killie that day.

give him a contract already! Tried like * when he came on unlike some of his team-mates, dont care what anyone says, it makes a difference if you have Celtic men in the team. Of course he also scored the winner, well taken header.

Bingo. Stokes gave 110% when he came on. How many times did he chase back 40 yards and win back the ball for us, unreal contribution. Kayal as well always gives his all. I felt like Kayal calms the game down a bit, he's always looking for a pass and he's got a great first touch. People also forget he's only 24. He will keep getting better and better. Centre mids usually peak quite late in their careers.

Yes and that story has been told time and time and time again as the reason he should supposedly be starting every game that he doesn't. He will live off the back of those two goals for the rest of his Celtic career in some people's eyes. But I was talking about today's result.

Are you saying that Neil Lennon might have been sacked if Celtic had lost today? :97:

I would hardly say Stokes saved Lennon's job today. It's Stokes' job to score goals, the reason he is still here is he tends to pop up at good times with them.

I'm not saying he should start every game.

But he is overlooked way too often for my liking.

    Smashing player.

Can blow hot and cold, but has proved yet again why he is so valuable to the squad.

Cant blame the guy if he walks at the end of the season . If Lennys little golden bhoy Hooper * off too we could be a bit light up front .

    Better all-rounder than Hooper.

Don`t agree that he`s better than Hooper but his contribution today was much better. He worked hard without the ball, chased everything down(mugged Willo Flood a peach at one point). Took his goal well, may have looked simple but it wouldn`t have been.

    Impressive contribution, Well done Sir.

I think he is the one guy in the team who you would bet on giving 100% when he plays. For that reason alone I think he is a valuable part of the team and should be played in front of Hooper in the next few weeks.

I think Hooper keeps him out the team, and if Hooper was to shoot off, Tony could stake a claim to being a regular starter, but I get wind of a personal issue between him and Lenny - that halted him in the past - might be a reason for his limited appearances, even when fit. He showed what he is all about today: a hard worker, a fighter, and a goalscorer. In my opinion we always look better with him in the team.

Well, not exactly. However, many people would be calling for him to get the sack had we lost today. His position would be questioned and rightly so.

...based on the fact he doesn't know how to put a decent defence on the park.
