I like Stokes but I was unhappy that I saw his Dad/Agent be quoted giving negative comments when they should be sticking together to win the league.

    Just cant get enough
Was surprised that Stokes didn't get on yesterday and can fully understand him being * off. Thought his dad's comments in the paper today were a disgrace though.
Who the * is he to tell Lenny what to do?
He should stick to managing a pub and leave Lenny to manage Celtic.

Cant believe how Stokes is getting treated, lennon really needs to look at his options on the bench because Stokes has a talent unlike someone

He should had have Stokes on yesterday no excuses from Lenny, disappointed in the treatment Celtic are giving him, really am.

You might agree with Lennon was right to start with Sammi after his past performances against them but after an hour it was'nt working and the introduction of Stokes would have boosted Hooper and Celtic would have played the natural formation of 4-4-2 instead of Sammi playing out wide which is no good to Hooper ,bad mistake yesterday and also * all to do with Stokes ,thats down to his Father.:50:

i don't think it's the fact that stokes isn't good enough, but how can he drop sammy, after the way he's played against them this season, he wins it in the air all the time, and maybe thats what lenny's looking for.

i can understand why stokes is angry, and why your angry marky, but i just feel samaras is the player to play against them.

don't get me wrong, i love stokes, brilliant player, and i do hope he's not wanting to leave because of this.

It just seems like Neil Lennon picked Anthony Stokes for the first Old Firm game of the season then decided he isn't capable of playing against Rangers because he had a poor game that day. Maybe that's not how it is but that's how it seems.

Yesterday both our strikers played poorly and we desperately needed a goal near the end yet our top goalscorer is left kicking his heels on the bench. I think Neil Lennon was wrong not to bring Stokesy on yesterday. If I was Anthony Stokes I would have been sitting on that bench wondering just how bad Samaras and Hooper had to get before I was going to be given a chance.

    I don't think that's the case Marky.

I think he looked at the way we needed to play against the huns at Ibrox at New Year, and decided Samaras was the better option to play ahead of Stokes, and it worked.

Stokes and Hooper are a "close together" strike partnership, linking play off one another in a 20-30 yard area, whereas Samaras is all over the park picking up possession and linking up with the front man.

This suited our needs at Ibrox, and such was the success, Lennon stuck by it. To his credit it worked every time until yesterday.

Stokes will not starve of opportunity, it's just that we need to adapt to what we need in certain games.

That's probably exactly why he wasn't picked for the next OF games and Sammy was given his chance, Sammy played well against them when given the chance so it was fair enough to select him again yesterday.

I agree things weren't working out and Stokes should have been brought on but with two enforced substitutions (Brown injury and Rogne being *) we weren't left with much options, personaly I would have brought Stokes on for Sammi rather than McCourt for Commons but with Commons being so poor you can see why that change was made.

Stokes has confirmed on his Twitter that he is going absolutely nowhere. He's got every right to be * off though, I would be.

i;ve no seen the highlights yet, but my hun mate said that lennon's phone thing broke, and he was shouting down to thommo, saying give hooper another 10 minutes or something like that, so i imagine, he was planning bringing stokesy...

i agree stokesy should have been brought on, i stick by lennon though, he obviously believed sammy and hooper can get a goal at any time. I was happy for them to stay on, hooper had a chance in the last minute that was blocked, if i remember correctly.

i personally wouldn't have started stokes, but i probably would have brought him on.

no good moaning about it though mate, lennon will know what went wrong yesterday, he may realise, stokes should have been brought on, he knows more than me, and i'm not going to argue with the man's decision... hopefully he'll get on at ipox, and prove lenny wrong and grab a goal.. until then let's stick by our players and managers

Agreed mate ,,The whole team were gash that day but Stokes seems to be the fall guy and maybe Lennon has never got over how poor he was that day ,,The whole team has moved on since then and Stokes is the top man at the club in the scoring front .

He was warming up at one stage, think Lennon may well have planned to bring Stokes on, but the first two subs were used up due to an injury (Brown) and unforeseen mince-ness (Rogne). Paddy was a last throw of the dice.

i don't believe it's the case tbh, i don't think lennon would judge him from the one performance, also taking into account that stokes was played wide and not through the middle,

i just think he felt sammy was the better lone striker (i would agree) to play against them at ibrox, samaras was motm, scored 2, won everything in the air.. he then played well again in the 1-0 and 3-0 game, showing lennon he can perform against rangers.. dont think it would have been right to leave sammy out.

but i do think he should have been brought on yesterday.

We were crying out for Stokes to be introduced at half time how Lenny couldn't see that is beyond me.

the game like yesterday was crying out for forward wingers why when your playing a team that hits you on the break you make it easier for them, with sending up wing backs.
then leaving yer * out the window with only 2 defenders, time and time again we are punished, as the middle of the park will create nothing, and dint go forward do we change Izzy to midfield and Wilson, and put brown and kayal and Ki at the frigging back or what.

should have been on yesterday, Neil is the only man who knows why!

every blind man and his dog watching that game knew it was not working
so the changes had to be made and Stoksey should have came on

As much as I dont think Sammy is deserving of a start, I can understand why he was given the nod yesterday. This result has been coming though, think back to the last 3 games before yesterday. Lost to Motherwell, a win against Hamilton that required a great strike from Commons to set up the win and a very scrappy affair against ICT.

Sammy was poor yesterday and just as he got his chance in the Ibrox game in Jan, Stokes should have been introduced at the hour mark, or ET at the latest to try and link up with Hooper.

To have our top striker in the stand when the team was crying out for a goal beggars belief. It really does.

Watched the game on tv yesterday, showed Lenny before et trying to get a message to touchline without any luck, sure he tried to say 5 or 10 minutes and then change something, could have wanted Stoke's on but unable to get his message across!
