That and Stokes is 21 and still developing as a player and will only get better, as i said before he would be a huge sigfn ing for us...

 

At the end of the day the league is our priority and we need guys who are proven to score up here! The last time I checked we didn't have an strikers who can do that on a regular basis!! Stokes has done it at both Falkirk n hibs so get him signed up

 

I am not too up on my stats etc but I have watched Stokes against us and he is a good player. To be fair though, Riordan played better 09/10 and scored some crackers last season - would we want him back?

 

ok whether we are going to sign him or not, in some ways i think alot of fans are still bitter about a young 18-19 turning down celtic to play in the EPL but failing, were as others see that he is just full of goals were it matters most in the league we play in.

so for all the comparisons going round with skippy mainly etc... i got a few questions for you stat lovers.

1. compared to skippy at well and skippy at boro whats stokes record like in the spl and championship?
2. compared to fletcher at hibs and flecther for burnley whats stokes record like in the respective leagues

i think there is a few others but for the life of me i can't think of them, now also onto another point, BTW i'm not really sticking up for stokes but with all this talk about him being slow/pacey, skillfull/not skillfull blah blah blah and not being able to do it on a higher level, (this is the outragous part) compard to even KRIS BOYD how many goals has he scored against "better" teams CELTIC mainly and in BOYD's case how many has he scored in all of europe and for scotland? so basically what i'm trying to get at here is that BOYD is full of goals no doubt but when he is asked to mak the step up against us or "better" teams now he's done * all so even then whats right us and for rangers aint going to be to different (as we both want the same thing and play normally in the same european tornies) so according to fans on here with stokes making the step up and not doing it makes him not good enough, boyd would not be good enough for a European challenging team in celtic or rangers or even scotland according to some fans on here when they talk about stokes and their reasons for him not being good enough, oh and another thing i know skippy aint been at boro for long but considering he was great for us scoring for fun in the spl and in the CL against some of the best defense in the world why isn't he getting them for boro?

overall i seem to get the feeling that on stokes there is alot of double standards for him as fans try and explain they reasons for either being good enough for celtic or not good enough for celtic.

me now i say he is the type of player who just gets on with his football, ever since his failure down south the only time i here stokes name is when he is scoring goals and nothing else which to me would me if he kept that same ethic at celtic if he were to join us then his scoring boots would fetch a pretty penny.

 

In the SPL stokes has 39 goals in 54 apps in the SPL.

 

So much space devoted to a player that we are not signing. We are signing Hooper so there is no chance we wil sign Stokes as well.

 

Hooper and Murphy will be the only signings we will make up front for now.

 

Stokes not playing for Hibernian tonight. Hmm.
