Simples i expect better than stokes !! Total * about our reputation if youre willing to pay decent money you,ve got a chance of landing a bit better quality player same as if you pay peanuts you,ll most likely get a monkey , although granted sometimes a henrik can turn up !!

Stokes > my opnion is it will take a lot for me to like this guy, this is the same guy who choose sunderland over us when he was scoring for fun for falkirk

this * is soo lucky to be given a second chance with celtic, i question his motives,is he using celtic to get a move back to the premiership?

lets face it he wasent excatly a hit at sunderland nor has he been successful at hibs.
i feel celtic could do a lot better than this dude

within the spl last season we could not sign a better striker than stokes, aside from kris boyd. i think the reason he's gettin a second chance to sign is because he's come back to the spl and scored goals again. he is a goalscorer, and think he played out on the wing a bit for sunderland, sheffield utd and palace, and also a lot of those appearances were as a sub.
and about the previous attempt to sign him id say we offered him peanuts as he was only around 19 and sunderland were spendin a decent bit of cash at the time, we also had around 5 strikers ahead of him at the time. either way as with most signing there will be fans happy with him and fans unhappy with him. he has a proven record of scoring goals in this league, so get him in, cheer him on and hopefully he'll score us the goals weve missed since the mo'n days.

£2.5m on hooper. £1.25m on stokes. £1.5m on murphy and he is still looking for another striker ! why not spend £5m on a top striker instead of these 3 ?? this will be our 11th signing and he is still talking about signing more. just wasting money on rubbish that we will probably have to pay off in a couple of years

We,ve a great chance of winning the league if we could attract a striker with proven quality why risk buying another squad player ? Make one final push to sign a keane or a guidjonnson somebody with that bit of class who could turn it in our favour !!

i agree with you mate,i think at best an average striker and we now have 4 average strikers ie hooper, murphy, samars, stokes.to be honest i loved neil lennon as a player but when he got the managers job i knew this would be the level of player he would be able to attracht, its more like the level of player i would expect rangers to sign due to their finiancial position.but when you look at rangers starting 11 to ours i would say they have a stronger starting 11 now.what do we do next year if we win the league and go in to the champions league do we have to start again and buy 4 new strikers cause you cant fool me that any of them would be good enough.i hope i am proved wrong.

Just another example of bargain basement Celtic. After the European fiasco they needed someone to spark a bit of excitement with the fans and get them coming back to the matches in their droves. What do we get? Stokes.....proof positive that Peter Lawell is alive and well and taking the pish out of all of us.

Have tbh so far im happy with lennys signings with exception of two maybe 3 if cha doesnt pan out the others being mulgrew an murphy but its obvious we need another cb and a quality striker they have the money to make at least a firm bid for keane fair enough if he says no but at least make a decent offer !!

No really a good comparison when you consider English clubs pay 5,10,15 million which turns out to be pish- they're happy to pay over the odds.
As for u get what u pay for, I remember a certain player who cost Celtic under £1m and now has legend status. The fact is we'll see come May if it's a worthwhile buy. Don't reckon we will be too disappointed

your right but dont blame lawell. lennon has spent over £5m on 3 strikers that are no more than very average at best . why not spend that on 1 decent striker? hes just wasting money on wages on a bunch of mr averages. 11 signings and 1 or 2 more still to come in before tomorow. 5 maybe 6 signings was defo more than enough
