Stokes will score goals , make no mistake.

His pace alone turns defence to attack and his goalscoring record has got better year by year as he has matured as a person and also gained experience.

He has only played for average teams so far and he should get more chances in every game with us. Pacy strikers seem to score against the gers and stokes has proved this already.

Welcome mate, hope you and hooper form an unstoppable partnership.

You are right mate. Pace is key against the Ranger's defence. You notice all them continental teams that score against them have pacy forwards. Stokes is as sharp as a tack in the penalty box, and he will batter them in for us.Stokes is one player they fear, so this is good for us.

I think Stokes and Hooper will be a good partnership but I don't think Stokes actually has much pace at all to be honest, hopefully he won't need it once Hooper gets fit

The guy knows where the net is and he can play a bit aswell ,pace to burn and has a very good record at Hibs ,Stokes coming in to play with better players will score a few for us ,i would take the plunge and go for him now because we might not get another shot of getting him if he continues popping goals ,others will come sniffing about.

Is stokes really that much of an improvment on what we have/had already?

^ Good! Much needed since being left with Samaras/Murphy. Hooper/Stokes sounds SO much better. :shamrock: He'll do it against the huns too, so that'll do me!

I would be extremely happy if we snag Stokes, he is young and a proven SPL goal scorer. And for those who say he is arrogant, go ahead and take a look at some of the best strikers in the world and see how many are arrogant. If you're a striker and you have no confidence you end up like Sammy, wasted talent.

worth a 1-2 million punt. Goal machines with lesser club can go either way. Is he another Killen or is he a Skippy (should never of let him go). On the surface Stokes looks like he has all the tools to be a good striker - decent technique, goals, height. decent mobility. The one worry is previous attempts to step up were a disaster but he was very young. Happy enough. There is something of Chris Boyd in his style and that is the kind of player we are missing.

I think Stokes will be an excellent signing, if around 2M . Yes we know he is not the big name everybody wanted but he is a player who knows how to score in the SPL and more importantly I think he is the type of player that fits into this Celtic team and the system Lennon wants to play. Keane would have been nice but with being out of Europe he is a luxury we cant afford and as its the SPL that is important to us then stokes gets my vote.

His goalscoring record with hibs in the SPL is brilliant, and with the amount of chances that he will get here, he should score a fair few!
