listening to ssn there saying we could offer 2.5 for him but john hughes values him at 4m aye rite heres a mill take it or leave it he aint that good

 

Just an update for this debate,, we are alledged to be willing to pay 2.5 million for stokes,,, hibs are wanting 4 million,, sorry but even at 2.5 million this is a joke!!!!!!!

 

stokes will give 100 percente and am sure he ll score goals. what more can you ask for.

 

i agree.especially when we paid them 8 times too much for scott brown.

 

I think Sky sports are getting mixed up with Itay as the figures were meant to be 2.5 million euros and the club valued him at 4 million euros.

i will be * off ifwe pay 2.5m for him, he is never worth that.

 

lol 2.5 mill could be spent better elsewhere easily, id rather go all out for the schecter guy, im assuming theres a deal in place for someone though, if not the board could massively * up if we dont sign another striker

we were linked with van wolfhinkel last season but never bought him, gutted how we never buy the ggood ones

 

we really ned to find a good striker with a good heading ability, we haven't had anyone who's prepared to put there head in where it may get kicked since the days of Hartson & Sutty.Hooper i'm sure will be good for balls played along the deck but no-one can head the * ball.
at the moment it seems like they shut there eyes and let it bounce off them and hope its on target.
any suggestions on players that suit this criteria and may be available?

SSN just reported that Hughes values Stokes at £4 million. * that im not paying £4 million for someone that can be a massive flop or sit on the bench half the season if we get Shechter and Hooper is fit. Fair enough he bangs them in in the SPL, but so did Riorden before he came.

 

hughes is having a * laugh £4 million the last time we paid that to hibs we ended up with that * brown they can ram it! :bbpd:

 

it's exactly what we would expect him to say we'll get him for 2 mill tops

 

i agree would not pay 4m for him at all 2m max if thats the case and lennon is daft enough to pay that and is forced to panic buy then it's a * joke

if only last year we paid hibs 3m for fletcher instead of 3.8m for MAF..... oh we can only dream......

 

The thing with Stokes is that he's not going to do much ouside 20 yards from goal but he will get goals.. The huns just won two titles based on having a guy who was a more clinical version of Stokes but who still wasn't deemed good enough for big games as it often left them a man down.

If we were already winning 90% of games against the likes of Hibs , Hearts , St Mirren , Aberdeen and Dundee Utd with what we've got up front then I'd say we need a big name striker (like the huns have done with bringing in Jelavic) to win us points in the trickier games , but we aren't even beating the teams I mentioned above and Stokes will get goals against them.. He's the ideal SPL signing for us as it's where he's performed best.. What he did at Sunderland is irrelevant..
