    I think we all remember the sitter he missed that nearly sent of us out the CL. He will never be good enough for that level.

    To progress we need players that play at that level not the level of St Mirren.

    McGregor should never be kept ahead of Stokes, for starters..Commons is better centrally as is Armstrong.

    Forrest hasn't proved he is the real deal again yet, just waiting for him to be injured again.

    Aye but he was playing for united not the champions of scotland where he can showcase his talents in europe which stokes hasnt done, apart from against karagandy and rennes like 4 year ago.

    Stokes has played well in Europe in far more games than just Karagandy and Rennes.

    Squad depth, we have enough, quality maybe not always better.

    At this point in our and Stokes careers, its time to move on. Stokes isnt going to get any better now and we know his strengths and flaws.

    Im not advocating mcgregor to be his replacement, just that we do have some sort of cover and with his transfer fee and wage saved, we can get the next player for that position.

    I'm raging at a lot of things but less so at Gordon and Stokes.

    He probably should have done better but he was totally exposed.

    If we are really going to try and sell him then we should tell them £8m+ which will at least set a precedent.

    If they don't want to pay that sort of money then we keep him which is not a bad thing AT ALL

    Yes 8 million. If there was a player with a similar domestic record to young Stokes playing for Leeds, you know we would pay that sort of money. Therefore, we should do similar when we have players with Europa League AND champions league experience.

    We need to stop belittling ourselves and now set a precedent. Why should players like Der Boeerigter, Pukki, Mo Bangura, Amido Balde be bought for anywhere near the sort of price we want to sell Stokes (a proven player) for? Is Ross McCormack or Jordan Rhodes any better than Stokes? No would be my answer.
