I have a hunch Ronny may offload him but I'm in the camp that plenty need to go before stokes, and I mean loads..
It's simple, does stokes offer anything to our team? It's an easy answer that even the haters can't get away from..

Stokes (imo) whilst being an all-round decent squad player, IS replaceable.

Let's face it - he's a striker who's having to change his game to fit into the team because he's not good enough to hold down a position in the team in his favoured position.......you honestly think he's 100% happy here?

He's not good enough to play week in/week out on the left, Armstrong appears to be a far more effective player than he anyways.

Me personally, if the offer of.......say.....over £1.5m came in, I'd do a deal. Would rather we used the cash for an actual left-sided forward player, or put it toward a goalscoring striker then give somebody like Michael Duffy a chance.

There are most certainly others at the club who should be offloaded before Stokes, but you can only sell players who are being actively saught after......cannie just magic them away with no bidders asking for them.

I'd rather keep him and buy the players for the positions you mentioned and get rid of the utter * instead.

If Stokes isn't happy at being a squad player he can leave with my best wishes, but if was happy to stay and be used sparingly (hopefully, as it will mean we have great players) then I would be happy for him to stay.

I'd rather be able to call on Stokes in an injury crisis than a Pukki or Derk.

Let them go for whatever someone will give them for us. I mean anything, cut price deals just get them off the * wage bill.

Let's hope we replace him with a Gary Hooper and not a:

    Mohamed Bangura
    Derk Boerrigter
    Jo Inge Berget
    Aleksandar Tonev
    Mubarak Wakaso
    Hólmbert Friðjónsson
    Miku
    Lassad Nouioui
    Morten Rasmussen
    Tom Rogić
    Amido Baldé
    Rabiu Ibrahim
    Daryl Murphy
    Niall McGinn
    Paweł Brożek
    Teemu Pukki

Is this the line up for Schindler's List 2: the Gas Chamber of Secrets?

Hyperbole, in case you didn't get that.

If you have a look through the Stokes thread, you'll see quite a few people who can't allow people to criticize the guy. He's bang average, always has been and always will be. A squad player should be someone you are confident in to come in when needed and put in a relatively good shift. Stokes isn't that sort of player for me. His lack of consistency is his biggest downfall, he's capable of magic moments but by and large he's pish. Slow, sloppy and regularly making the wrong decisions.

And his scoring record isn't anything spectacular - last season he got 20 league goals in 33 games - fair enough. However, that was the only season where he even reached 15 goals in the league. And this season is the only one so far where he has been in and out of the team.

Of course we need squad players but in his position there are plenty who can play there - Armstrong, GMS, Forrest, Johansen, Commons and Henderson (obviously not available right now). That is more than enough, and I would play every one of them before I'd play Stokes.

Quite funny that when someone has a different opinion they are "full of *".

    In an ideal world, aye.

Unfortunately, back on Planet Reality, business needs to be done, money needs to be recouped.

Without having to trawl through MANY previous threads, you personally have been guilty of being "full of *" when complaining about Stokes after decent/good performances.

I don't know how we are recouping anything on them by letting them languish in our reserves taking a wage from the club.

    Forgot Gershon.

Daryl Murphy isn't doing too bad at Ipswich.

Like who? Can only think of Boaconstricter.

Pukki and Balde are both away on loans - fees being paid with contributions to % of both wages.

Rogić, Tonev and Wakaso but two of them'll be off soon. A lot of 'youth' players that are about twenty-*-five as well. :smiley-laughing002:

Here, looking at that list, maybe we should just have listened to Rosko and signed Billy McKay. :smiley-laughing002:

Let's be honest it isn't just a different opinion though. You are constantly coming out with pish like this when all folk are trying to say is Stokes is a decent squad player to have at the club.

Always guaranteed near top of the charts in double figures with assists and chips in with goals when given the chance as well. Sounds like a good squad player to me.
