That's a fair point, he might want to leave himself and in that case I would wish him all the best.

I wouldn't be actively trying to punt him if he wanted to stay and fight for his place though.

I'm with you on this Sean. Some of his link up play with Izzy at times has been pretty good. And his assists this season is of a decent standard.

So we need to shift on the players you mentioned, as well as the deadwood who never get a game.

That would leave us needing about 14 players brought in.

Thank * you aren't the manager.

sean lets face it armstrong is the managers choice for that position, and as i said before, if stokes is unwilling to fight to play out of position, its best he moves on, in the long run i can only see armstrong getting the nod in that position. i would love to see him go some were and play were he is best, and if anybody knows were that is its neil lennon, so it could be the best for all partys.

:97: Who exactly are you talking about here by the way?

Not once have I seen anyone on here talk about him like that. I don't think I've even seen anyone say he should be a regular starter in the team at the minute.

You are so full of * it's unbelievable.

I think he'd want to stay and fight no matter what..

A Celtic fan, young family up there, loves in and about Glasgow. Not easy to walk away from for players like stokesy as like most of our players he won't get a club anywhere near our stature again. Commons, Griffiths (broony and Chico obvious ones) and a couple of others all strike me as having that kind of mindset here. This is the be all and the end all for them, very comfortable..

    Just my impression..

And Koke, out of me and you, I'm not the one who can't let go of Lennon's time in charge. :86:

you may be right about that, but will he be happy not in the team, its not just about fighting for it, he will need to win the place and keep it, and with armstrong just being a new purchase, imo he more or less has the nod, and it will be hard for stokes.

no one knows if he is in ronnys plans, and no one knows if any sort of moves suits stokes, as said above he seems happy here at the moment, and seems to have taken ronnys coaching methods in his stride.

yes but you also said you would have stokes in the team just now ahead of armstrong, and i dont believe that to be the case in ronnys view, but i could be wrong.

Being a squad player here isn't the worst thing in the world, he hasn't always been a guaranteed starter in previous seasons, so I'm not sure how much it would play on him. He's shown before that he can work hard and force his way in, maybe he'll be thinking that again..

Your right about Ronny, he deffo fancies Armstrong on the left, I don't even know if it's attitude or whatever that's stokesys problem. It could purely be down to pace, Armstrong has plenty of pace and energy, Ronny certainly likes that on the wings..

At this moment I would, yes. Armstrong has been disappointing on the left for a good while now, actually really bad for about 3 games in a row on the left.

I agree he is Ronny's long term plan for that position but I think Stokes deserves his chance on Wednesday, not least because he will be playing at the weekend.

there is no doubt about it on paper stokes and armstrongs records dont even come close just now, but i dont see why going ahead armstrong could not match it, if not better it. in order to do that ronny has to put faith in a guy he has signed..

Replace him with McGeady :icon_mrgreen:. Well, if Mcgeady has learnt when to pass the ball.

I'd much rather see a youth team player given a chance on their wage versus Stokes on his just because you deem him good enough to sit on the bench. He doesn't have the fight or drive to succeed as a first choice or he would be by now.

Thank * you're not the chief executive or manager :50:

I want to get rid of the deadwood. I want players like Commons and Stokes and Forrest and Broony and Izzy become the new deadwood because that will mean we have better for their position and then we move them on. Then I want buy new players the next year and have the new players who replaced the old players to become the new deadwood.

    Rinse and repeat.

Getting shot of the players in the team shouldn't be the answer, getting shot of the ones not in the team is, imo.

If not, you are always going sideways.

ive been critical of him but whatever hes done this season domestically in terms of goal assists surely can't be sold for 1.5m.
    * be good cover domestically next season when well be playing 2 games a week every 2 out of 3 weeks before Christmas .

What happens if we get rid of all these senior players, and the ones we bring in have the same impact as Pukki, Brozek, Bangura, Derk, Wakaso, Tonev, Finbogasson, Rasmussen etc?

Who do we turn to then?
