Football is easy. If you do the business on the pitch you play.

You're no guaranteed a performance fae Stokes though. Aye granted he CAN produce the goods, but it's no a sure thing. That being said, we need more end product from the forwards and men in behind (Griffiths excluded).

Really? I think over the course of a season you can pretty much guarentee if he's up front with a partner ten pulus assists and 20 odd goals a season.

Or a lot of assists from the wing, as he got about 13 in pretty much half a season last year. Think he's been very consistent with that in his time here.

No player guarentees every game but if you have more match winners in your squad over a season they generally balance it out well. Stokes is one of them for me.

He's divisive for me. You watch him during games and half the stuff he tries is powderpuff or non existent, then he produces a wee bit a magic.

He's a good player, no doubt....but unfortunately his brain isnae as clever as his feet.

Personally, I would think a man with 6 months left on his contract at his boyhood team would be busting a gut to secure his future, apparently not.......well, so far anyways.

He can be like that, he tries stuff that other players don't, part of the reason I like him. His cleverness is why I like him, give him some movement around him and he finds the players with the final pass the majority of the time. We are missing that just now, he is also a goal threat.

Again, I know what you're saying but it depends on the person, there are folk whose heads go down and they sort of go into a self fulfiling * depression. Seen it plenty of times, with stuff outwith football. Not everybody reacts the same in situations. Preferably I'd rather he reacts like Griffiths.

Really? I dont recall him playing at all but according to stats posted on his wiki page he has had a single league and a single European appearance all season, presumably at the very start of the season and its now the new year. That is some stretch to say that he has been given a chance. There has been players given a chance like Armstrong who at his best offers less than Stokes at his worst but there ye are.

Stokes has got it, he can be frustrating at times but he has got it. Sometimes I think he can be a number 10 or hes more effective with a partner with him (Hooper, but we don't have that quality).

Its astonishing he isn't getting put into this team. I find the argument that Ciftci is somehow better than Stokes is comical.

I'd like to see him back in the team, provided he proves he deserves it in training.

He might not be a Henrik Larsson but i think it's quite obvious now he is a better footballer than Ciftci. You might say whatever you want about his attitude and behaviour out of the pitch. But Ciftci has bitten an opponent, stomped over Brown and attacked a team mate at training, what is specially worse when you consider the one attacked was a nice guy like Izzy. I can't believe Stokes, no matter how bad his football is, got a suspension for something he wrote on twitter while Ciftci got away with punching a team mate in training

I'd also rather have Stokes out on the left than Armstrong. He might run up and down all day but he has * all to his game out there. * all.
Waste of a player and a position on the park.

Have to admit yous two make a lot of sense regarding Stokes over Armstrong. Saying that, I really think wee Nesbitt deserves a go.

As much as I don't rate Stokes we need to try something different.
