Stokes isn't exactly as big of a name as the likes of Pirlo, Gerrard and Beckham is he? :smiley-laughing002: I don't think they'd pay him anymore than us.

He's not as big a name as them but he's better than all three them put together

If he's to go I'd like him to try somewhere like France/Spain/Italy. See how he gets on.

Lafferty went to Palermo, would be able to get a deal over in these places.

At best he's destined for the Championship, lower end of the Premier League if he's really lucky.

I've never been a big fan of his but he's been a decent servant to the club, time to go though...

ILTC suggested the Eredivisie a few days ago, and I think that's a great shout.

Thanks to his contribution to the club, we should erect a statue of Sir Tony outside Paradise next to Jock as a tribute to him.

It is these stats that make this a very bizzare choice from the staff at Celtic. Firstly and fore mostly, we know what we get from Stokes - unlike half of the forwards that the staff decide to sign. Secondly, with a record like that I am bemused. Thirdly, we are hardly flourishing with wingers and strikers.

It smells distinctly similar to the Kris Commons situation.

Stats don't tell a full story.

On the left I'd rather have Armstrong and I'd also have Commons there before Stokes. Up top I'd rather have Ciftci or Griffiths.

So I'd have 2 players before him in his strongest positions. Therefore, if we can get a wee bit of money for him now, I'd be happy! :50:

Wouldn't be missed, decent enough player but will struggle to get in the team this season.

Personally, I feel a bit sorry for Stokesy, hes never really got a full crack of the whip.

Up front with Hooper was his best link.

Broke 20 goals in all comps twice, once in the league in 5 years. I think he could have got more had he been played in his best position, he just always lacked that important yard of pace which would have seen him play a lot more. He scored some wonderful goals and he'll be fondly remembered Id say by most Celtic fans.

Hope he doesnt leave, but I'd rather see him getting the chance to play a season up front for another club.

Armstrong is pish on the left. I'd much rather have Stokes in that position than him
