Should be dropped. A lot of people giving pukki stick yet he's new to the Scottish game. Stokes has been just as poor and has been here several years and knows the Scottish game. Not good enough.

did well versus ajax by winning a penalty entirely through his own skill. Hit the bar against Milan which was the closest any of our guys came to scoring.

I think our entire attack has been disjointed this season and all of our strikers have suffered immensely as a result. The only attacker who has been consistent has been Commons and he didn't set the world on fire in Europe either

What I think is forgotten about Commons aswell is how he was even less effective then Stokes has been this season the season after he joined, fans were all over him for his poor showings etc... Stokes if given the fans backing can easily overcome this blip in form.

Everyone goes on how he hasn't performed on the highest stages but at the highest stage what has won us games was our defense and midfield, Hooper was not missed in seasons CL Wanyama was.

Stokes like every other player is prone to loss in form and if given the proper support by our fans can get over it, sometimes our fans are just overly critical of their teams players and it makes matters worse, since Sammy has had a positional change under Lenny Stokes is the only senior striker at our club, Pukki, Balde and the Icelandic guy are all new and need time and Watt has been sent away to mature.

Scored 2 goals in his last 15 games. Pathetic.

I thought he had a good game against Motherwell.

Hopefully his form is on the upswing again because besides this performance, lately his SPL showing has been really, really * poor.

Despite the lack of goals, I think he's putting together the most mature season (even w/ that debatable red card) he's had as a professional footballer.

    I love this guy.

Agree with the above. He did play well yesterday and harsh sending off. However this kind of showing has been a rarity this season.

With his three game suspension, he'll be heading into March with 7 goals this season.

If it was numerous other players, they'd have been called every name under the sun and fans demanding to see him dropped long ago. It's ridiculous.

What is Stokes natural position or preferred style of play?

He has everything about him just now bar goals.

I think this is is an attribute of my dislike of him just now (Im a * I know:smiley-laughing002:). I never had this dislike before. But obviously because we are screaming out for goals from our forwards, the fickleness kicks in.

I think May or McKay would be a great partner for Stokes. Make it happen Celtic.

    Exactly this.

Stokes was signed to score goals, yet despite showing a glaring lack of ability to finish, he continues to evade the criticism that newer players get within a few months.

If he is our leading striker going into Europe this year and Lennon continues to pick him then I worry for our ability to score at that level.

What a bang average strike force either of them would be. Surely we can do a * of a lot better.

Stokes, Commons and Forrest provided an exciting and dangerous attack
on Saturday . I am sure Commons Forrest and Pukki would also be a lethal
    attack.

May and McKay are better than Balde and Pukki. * sake Niall McGinns better than both of them.

I would take McGinn back right now if he was guaranteed to play through the middle. He was wasted out wide when he played for us.
