I and any true fan would take the 10000 (how much money do you need??) and live the dream. I am fed up with the press always portraying all Irish players as mad life long Tims fans. It was not true of Keane, MON and clearly was not true of Stokes. Its just lazy journalism.

mate.. its just your opinion and its a valid one - but no facts. my original point was about telling players they will start. we shouldnt do it. if henry had a meeting with wgs do you think hed need told he would start every game if fit? not * likely. but the players in question arent at that level. they should realise that they are going to be paid well to play for a great club with great fans. if its too much for them to prove themselves then fine let them go.

Moneys not everything. If he even only got a two or three year contract, he would be guaranteed to be a millionaire even if he had a career ending injury the next day.

 

Stokes could be thinking different to you my friend, its his choice not ours. Should Stokes do what we would do? What gives us the right to criticise his reasons for deciding that Charlton is his best option when we obviously dont know what offers were actually on the table.

If he cared about football, prestige or Celtic he would have chosen Celtic.

True but its fair to say he is not behaving like a Celtic fanatic as the press repeatedly described him. Its really a press problem IMO as his actions indicate that he is not that big a fan. There are many total diehard Irish Tims (e.g. on this site) but the press tend to say that about all Irish players in Celtic's radar when really most of the players concerned just have the national passing softspot for Tic but no real interest.

 

Fair play to Elvis for seeing through charlton IMO ...he will be gettin a medal this year , some wont !
