no player should be told he'll play every week when they sign for us. the fact is we are trying to build a proper squad at last and each and every one of them need to earn the right to play by taking their chance. for the record i think stokes would have grabbed it but * him and i hope charlton get relegated now! no sour graped of course

Players will ask "Where do you see me in you plans" and managers will explain their role at the club, alot will get it written into the contract especially in a bidding war like this, they can dictate that term into a contract.

It looks like Strachan wouldn't do this with Stokes so he went elsewhere. It was his whole motivation for going to Falkirk in the first place.

Money Talks , end of story ...You all would do the same , trust me on this one .We have a wage structure in place at CP and it seems to be working , if we offered this guy Stokes (great talent & would love to see him here) £15 K a week how many players would be banging on the door of their agents demanding talks with Lawwell & Strachan about an improved deal ??? I would guess quite a few ...Lets let Lawwell get on with it , after all 17 points Clear & Last 16 of the CL isnt bad with a wage structure in place

I didnt say that Gravesen got a guarantee to play every game when fit, thats different.

When the big matches come round, SPL & UCL, Gravesen started them all unless unfit/injured. Thats what I meant by first team football. Strachan has rested him in the 'smaller' matches

Purely Speculation?

Stokes left arsenal to get first team football, its obvious as * to me the lad wants to play at the highest level now, not next season, now. Falkirk agreed to that.

Charlton may loose Bent this transfer window, might not. Hasselbaink is the other first choice striker, I think Stokes will get either one's place depending on what happens this window.

Strachan didnt guarantee Hibs top scorer for 3 season a starting place, i'd highly doubt he'd do it for Stokes.

He is another case (like MON) where the press say he was a big Celtic supporter but he probably only supported us un the sense that Celtic are one of the default teams to look out for the result for if you are Irish. Am sure he really actually supports an EPL team. IMO, noone who was a supporter would turn down Celtic and a very good wage (surely every real Tim's dream) for an EPL minnow and a bit more money. Conclusion

1. He was never a Celtic supporter.
2. He is a greedy *.
3. He is a pr*ck

You guys might not hold grudges against players. But us Philadelphians despise players that betray us and by default I will always despise him if he signs with Charlton.
