He's not technically blessed; but IMO he's hardly an SPL journeyman either and he has a good attitude. In my experience kids with his attitude usually go on to become technically competent with time. He's never going to be Cafu; but I think he'll be just fine technically in time. I like him TBH. Think he has a future if he keeps up the hard work and good attitude.

He needs game time to develop technically and tactically now. That would also mean Lustig would start to take more of a back up role, which I would like to see now so that we remember him well when he leaves.

Nah not for me, I'd let him go. Tbh he was just charging in like a mad man and not doing a great job about it.

Even his foray forward, didn't have a clue and started stumbling like * and lost the ball. Genuinely looked like he was thinking what the actual * am I doing.

If Lustig goes a RB along with a CB and CF are priority.

I guess the wee Rosenborg LB cannae do RB?

100% we are getting a new right back this transfer window, not sure where it will leave Ralston though. Could see him going out on loan till the end of the season as he is yet to play week in week out in the spfl yet and Gamboa may leave for peanuts as his contract is up this year and a few teams might be interested (maybe Rosenborg want a swap deal with Meling for Gamboa and money)

Deserved his man of the match tonight. Big man is solid, pace is his Achilles heel but a decent back up to the new right back when it happens .

Had a very good game. Always takes up good positions and makes good runs.

He has been getting in lots of goalscoring positions recently.

Still need someone better for RB but he is an upgrade on Lustig because he gets forward. Crossing overall was pretty decent. A few wayward ones but overall good.

Don't think many get by him. Don't think he's brilliant but he seems good defensively at least..

I like him. Couple of poor touches but he makes up for it because he’s physical enough. At worst a decent squad player going forward.

    He's alright. He's a bit...rugged, but he's fine.

Seems like it takes him forever to get the ball under control and at times today he looked like he was running with a beachball, but I still quite like him.

Defensively and mobility wise has seemed better than lustig has recently anyway.

Tbf Brendan is probably more mobile than Lustig!

If we dont bring in a right back in I would just persist with him for the remainder of the season

Just watch the boy every time Jamesie gets the ball. He's off his mark to offer support. This does two things
1 It gives Jamesie an option to offload a pass to him
2 It creates space, possibly creating a 1 on 1 for jamesie.

I am not banging the drum he is the answer to our RB dilemma but right now he is 100% our best option.

I know he isn't the greatest defender, but by * Lustig certainly isn't either.

His crossing seems to be improving as well i thought

He isn’t the answer mate your right but he does do exactly what you say

I don’t know if you can remember but in 2005 we signed a guy called Paul Telfer and he wasn’t a great player but I was at a night with Gordon strachan and he said he signed him to be the guy who would run 50 yards every time to give Nakamura 10 yards of space!

The exact same as Ralston does!

Think he's got potential. I'd use him over lustig. More games the more he will develop and you never know. He might become the next Tierney.

I remember that and can see the similarities. The difference is that Telfer was a mature player who was what he was; Ralston is still a kid and should get quite a bit better. Like many have said before (including me), he's never going to exactly be Cafu; but I'll be surprised if he doesn't end up more technically proficient than Paul Telfer.

Don’t think he is in the same league as tierney but next 3 games he should start imo.

    St midden
    Hamilton
    St Johnstone

Give him it aswell as Bain and see how it goes!

Aye technically telfer was gash but I do Remember him smashing 1 in at Pittodrie!

Ralston loves a tackle and isn’t scared to go into 50/50 someone said he lacks pace I think he has decent turn of pace not in tierney or benkovic levels but he is a solid young guy!

Fs lads we played a semi professional team, let’s not pretend otherwise. Lustig would’ve looked good against them, good performance but that’s about it
